Venture Shield is 58" w vs 3M 48" w for full hood coverage - do people mix n match product? Any personal experience protecting a 612 please share what areas you covered.

On the lower matte black areas - cover it or leave it?

On the 612 my dealership just finished doing venture shield on an 612. We did all of the body including the lower matte areas.

I had the 3M Shield put on my 612 (Siverstone) - front bumper / first 1/3 of hood / lights / side mirrors / door edged / aluminum door sills / partial wheel well and top of the rear bumper under trunk lid. I understand that the 3M product has better anti yellowing agent and has a clear coat like surface that matches the cars clear coat better. Its been only 5 months and I am pleased with the results. I also installed 3M on a Mercedes G55 (black) and S63 (white).

Great responses - Nice idea on the sills! Did the installer use two separate sheets or one continuous sheet on the lower body to the black matte? Due to the indent seems it could be an issue. Last since the 3M gives a sheen to the black matter did you do all the matte area around the exhaust or stop it underneath the exhaust so you cant see the line?

I did not cover any of the satin black finished areas, nor the door, other than the edges and the inside of the door pulls (wife's ring will scratch the paint if I ever forget to open the door for her).
