After giving it a LOT of thought................

I changed my order and got the HGTE package after all. Today was the last day I could make any changes to my order before the car goes into production.....I realized that I would kick myself later if I didnt go for the HGTE.......I may even get the car before November!

No, seriously, that's fantastic. Does it have options different than the 599 or is it all pretty much standard?

 

Thanks brother man! It has a few options that are not available on the standard 599 such as Alcantara seats and trim, and a matte finished grill. The exhaust is different (louder!!) and The transmission is upgraded as is the suspension obviously. I think thats about it?

i just got word from my dealer that u can have the HGTE put on to existing 599s for something like $30k in the states and something more than that in Asia where im at.
Im pondering adding a 599 or 612 to my 430s. But i might get mine as early as this week, i'll add more comments to this switch like the others when i do.

 

Great to hear! So were you still getting the stitched "HandlingGTE" in the seats or was it possible to have it left off? In the end, I doubt it'd matter much because that's the last thing you'll be thinking about.

 

I red that somewhere here where existing 599 owners can have the HGTE Package installed on their existing 599. Though were not sure what is included in the package if you opt to install in your existing 599. Did the dealer tell you what was included in the package (just curious)?

Well most likely, I assume you get the Stiffer Springs, thicker anti sway bar, recalibrated magnetoheological shocks but apart from that, would you get the other stuffs as well like the rims, recalibrated timing of the gear shifts, carbon interiors, leather/alcantara seats etc?

In your previous topic you wrote you would opt for the Challenge rims rather than the rims supplied with the HGTE-pack. You still did that?

Thanks for the great responses guys...I literally decided to go for the HGTE on the last possible day!

I requested to have the Challenge Wheels and NO stitching on the seats that reads "Handling GTE". My dealer had not heard back from Ferrari yet wether they can do the Challenge Wheels. We had to put the order in without getting an answer on the wheels.

He said that he was a little concerned that the may not be able to do the Challenge wheels but I know of at least one person (on FChat) who was able to get the Challenge Wheels on an HGTE order so Im sure it's gonna be fine. The worst thing that can happen is that I will get the spoke wheels. They actually are growing on me and I will be happy with either choice.

All I know is that it will be Black on Black, Alcantara seats, Carbon Fiber driving zone, Yellow Brake calipers, and 12 friggin cylinders!

 

Transmission??

Sounds like pure evil! Even if you didn't get the CS wheels, the HGTE spoke wheels look great. One way or another it'll be a beauty.

 

I just got the call from my dealer CHALLENGE WHEELS are a go and so is the deletion of the "Handling GTE" stitching on the seats!!!!!!
Now all I gotta do is wait............for a few months : O

This series of cliff hanger 599 threads is keeping me up at night - and it's not even my car...!

You can get/request progress images from the factory - I hope you do so and post them here, so as to satiate the established thirst with which you've infected us all.

I need some sleep, damnit...!

 

Tell me about it!!!!!! It's been a saga of epic proportions!!!!! I'm absolutely going to request pics from the factory. GREAT IDEA!

Now that I know Im getting the HGTE package I feel better. I knew deep down that I wanted it but I just couldn't justify the 30K.......Then
it occurred to me that attempting to justify the purchase of a brand new 599 is feeble at best. I also played out in my mind the first time
I see an HGTE after opting for the standard car.....I know myself well enough to know that it would mean MANY nights obsessing over
why I didn't have the balls to go for it!

It's a totally emotional decision and it's about passion for the ultimate marquee not about making a "business decision".

OK, enough ranting.......Seriously, you guys are so cool to give me such great feedback and support.

i'll ask again, since i dont have a 599 yet i didnt care much, they did say the price includes suspension mods, maybe wheels, nothing else if i remember correctly.
