Ferraris press release after Mosley's ouster states...

""A Championship, which will be held, as suggested by FOTA, in the spirit of sporting and technological competition, with clear and fixed rules and transparent governance, handled by the F1 Commission."

And what is the F1 commission?

"The World Council uses a fax vote to appoint the F1 commission which includes a representative from the FIA, one from the commercial rights holder, five promoters (Australia, Brazil, Hungary, Monaco and Spain) and six teams: Red Bull Racing, Renault, BMW Sauber, Ferrari, Honda and Williams F1. The selection is based on national licences and Red Bull has managed to get a place having decided to apply for an Austrian racing licence, although the team does not yet have this sorted out."

    Tracks get 5 votes
    Teams get 6 votes
    FIA gets 1 vote
    FOM gets 1 vote

Max was cut off at the knees.

End of the day: PornoMax went into a meeting today saying he was going to stand re-election, and came out saying he wasn't.

How anyone can consider that a win for the FIA..is beyond me.

It will keep the peace for a while at least, that's until we hear what really went on in that meeting.

Sounds interesting, whether or not we're going to see any real changes is still left to be seen.

The real change is distribution of power that had been concentrated in one jack-a**'s hands. Mosley took a massive spanking today: He was effectively ejected from any interaction with F1 and barred from regulatory office, FOR LIFE, effective immediately.

That, on its own, is beautiful. Still, I can't help but feel a little disappointed. As a fan, I was hoping to see wholesale change that was only possible with a breakaway series. A return to the classic tracks, racing run by racers instead of lawyers, true revenue sharing and fair treatment of partners, etc.

But FOTA flexed serious muscle. I think we're seeing the dawn of an incredible power today.

Maybe they just want a fair, unbiased opinion from a company that isn't involved :D

I was wondering about that as well.
Maybe Brawn is just a straw and Honda still owns the team.
Not that I want to start any rumors or anything;)

I was wondering if Honda might have rejoined the break-away, with no engine freeze.

Maybe they're just taking a year off, in order to bring in a "new" (unfrozen) engine? ;)

But now -- any bets the "spec" Cosworth isn't going to be subject to some of the "freeze" limits?

    Spec series: here we come.

Let me guess. You're a bit of a " glass half empty " type of guy. :)
I'd be surprised if more than one of the Cossie teams ever makes a grid.

I noticed that, and no Mclaren seems very odd considered the considered by most to be the 2nd powerhouse in f1 behind Ferrari

That was the structure of the F1 commission for 2008. I am not sure who is on it for 2009 (tracks change too)

What sharp little eyes you lot have :)

I was googling to find out the composition of the F1 commission and I found an article that highlighted what it was comprised of for 2008. The article mentioned Toyota was unhappy that Honda was represented and they were not, and McLaren wanted representation but didn't have it (I think it was unrelated to 'spy gate').

I'd find it rather easy to protray being Max. Being bland, rather cruel delusional and incompetent comes naturally to me.
