Looks to be a California with a 599 bonnet. With a 'make-shift' roof sitting on top. Also, pic has been reversed. Car is really LHD, look at the Horsey on the steering wheel.
\ Interesting that yet again its Czech Ferrari. Does anyone know what that connection is? The F450 photos were from this company as well.
happens every christmas.......goes on holidays and gets a ban put in place.....call me a conspiracy theorist
The thing on this that gets me is the same as on the new Aston recently - weird vent behind the front wheel? Is this just a fashion or have brakes suddenly become hard to cool? I'd have thought with ceramic discs etc ...
need some advice fella's.....theres a 348 on sale in nsw for $89k.......ad stipulates it has full service history and is in immac condition, but it has 98k kays on it. Would you touch it with that amount of kays??? Im unsure. Great price compared to what others are asking. And could prob get it for at least $85k. Cheers
mileage no possibly problem...depending on how it was driven. PPI will reveal all. Don't get FF to do it.
Im with PP. Km's wouldnt bother me as long as the car has been well looked after and has a service history to back it up. There are some 348's here on Fchat that have WAY over 100,000 km on the clock. There is one that has nearly 170,000 km on it and it looks immaculate and has been well taken care of. Engine is still going strong the owner once posted. A PPI is basically a really thorough check over of the car. Like a Road Worthy, sorta. Get a PPI (Pre-purchase inspection) done and that will give you a good indication of what the car and engine is like. I am sure PP can suggest someone in Melbourne that can do a thorough PPI for you. Part of the PPI should include doing a leak down and compression test on the engine. That will give you a fair idea of what the engine is like. Too much leak down and that means the valves may need doing. Low compression means it may need rings etc..etc.. A PPI will cost ya around $500 bucks. Give or take a few dollars depending on who you take it to. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Of course. The only reason I mentioned it is because I have heard of guys getting PPI's done and they never had the leakdown/compression tests done. Not sure why?? But now that Frank knows about it, when/if he books in a Ferrari for a PPI, he can mention it to them.
Yeah, a lot of lessons learnt the hard way. No point in not spelling them out and having the next guy fall into the same old trap.
thanks guys for the info! (and again thanks pap ) Yeah I would definantly get a PPI.....and I do comp tests and leak down tests on my WRX regularly to make sure she is in top nic so know what they are. Was just uneasy about the km's on this particular car, as most have between 20-50 thousand kays on them, and in all honesty id rather a low km one, but if the savings are there id seriously think about one with higher kays. Might offer something low and see if seller bites. Usually these cars sit for sale for a long while (obviously small market) so they may take a low offer. No harm I guess. I'll offer $78k lol also, Ive used redbook alot to guage cars value in the past, and in most cases its an accurate figure, so I checked it for the 348 and it said they are worth 70-80k, but with an average of 150k kays....obviously most on sale have much less as ferrari's are rarely daily drivers....what do you guys think a 348 should be worth??? Id love to pick one up with say 30-40k kays for about $85k but I think I might have little hope of that.
Yes, but what kind of condition do you expect and how much are you prepared to spend to make it right? Mine was an one owner, Aust del car, full history, but I spent over $80k to make her perfect mechanically and cosmetically. Now, in many ways, she is better than the day she left the factory. I do tend to get obsessed though.
thats what I mean, I want a immac condition car with low kays for 85 grand...hahaha...little hope of that I think. Most ones with low kays and nearly as good as new are in the 100-120k range. Whereas in the usa they are so much cheaper.
