Walter I wish I were going I am going to miss this event, but Dr. Simeone will be there with his 300S . Congrats again on the book it is great. Please post pics when you get a chance. Erik
Hi Erik, that`s good news and I am looking forward to meet Fred talking -again- about his 300S #3077 (ex-3056). A pity that you can`t be there! Ciao! Walter
It rained almost the entire drive from Philadelphia (and on the way back). However, it stopped raining for a little while and with the foggy conditions it made some interesting photos so here they are http://www.flickr.com/photos/24302083@N05/sets/72157619953109881/ Walter, it was nice to meet you in person. Next time I think I will stay overnight. Hopefully I won't be driving a rental car either. The cars were certainly great, the location looks great too if only it hadn't been so rainy.
rain fog mud but wonderful time, thanks walter for wading into this mess, surely have a safe trip home. nasty weather did not damped the group spirit. first time i have seen more maserati than ferrari at a meet. and special maserati at that. indy rep. tried to help me tow my car, he was wet to the skin on ground hooking my car to a golf cart. mr de groot was in the rain trying to figure out why my car would not start, refused $$. what a special gathering of cars and people. will post photos when i return
Walter, Nice meeting you at the concours. I'm no historian so I don't chime in but love the old Maseratis and reading your posts. It was a pleasant surprise to read you would be at the show and fun to say hello. Wil de Groot
Nice photos! I'll take it as a compliment that the only Ferrari photo you posted here was of my car. I enjoyed the show and especially all the vintage Maseratis. The rain and fog actually gave it a nice atmosphere, especially in the photos, even though I wasn't happy about the thought of having to drive out through the mud. Had it on the track Sunday and Monday - a real blast. Watching them pull the tractor-trailer out of the muck after the concours with a tracked excavator, after the big-rig tow truck failed with it's long cable, was a show in itself. Great event!
Well Guys, it was a very nice weekend although the weather on saturday was "discussable" :) Bu I was quite impressed by the very good quality of the Maseratis displayed on the lawn at Skytop Lodge! Nice to meet you all over there and many thanks to Joe Corbaccio who made it possible!. Here is Ermanno Cozza, Heart & Soul of Maserati S.p.A. in Pocono, united with the Tipo 26 (#3004), with the 16-cyl.-car (#4002) and the famous Indy-winner 8CTF (#3032). Ciao! Hey Mitchel, even with some of the cars upside down and sideways they STILL got wet didn't they? ;>)) Thanks for the pictures and hope your 550 is OK. What was the issue? Bob S.
550 is on operating table, not sure with national health care if it just needs to be put down or an implant. at this time problem with starting is unknown. meter running at repair shop in columbus ohio. stay tuned
Thank you, yes I think your Ferrari is a nicely modified and clean car. Those two things rarely seem to go together, regardless of the marque. I'm curious about what else you've done to it, but I don't want to take the thread too far off topic.
Thank you. I don't want to hyjack this thread either. If you're interested you can take a look at the threads below. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101045 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125146 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=202588
