We know about resale red -- call it the 'normal' color for a 308/328, and far and away the most popular and most common. It's sort of the baseline when it comes to values. I.e., when we talk about a nice 308 QV being worth about $40K we assume it's not oro chiaro, bianco or verde scuro -- it's almost certainly rosso corsa or maybe nero.

I was thinking about this in the prugna 308 thread this morning. It's a rare color, and if you want one you probably wouldn't want to wait for the next 5 prugnas to show up on the market or you would be an old man by the time you bought.

Are there are any non-red colors that you would pay a premium for, due to their rarity and attractiveness?

Colors that I would aggressively pursue in a 308/328:

    Blu sera
Blu chiaro (I passed on a tired looking one when shopping, but the color is stunning)
Nero metallico (biased, because I own one, but I pulled the trigger in part because of the color and passed on numerous red cars)
Argento (Wasn't originally a color I wanted, but having seen one in person I can say it's devastatingly good on a 328)

Grigio/Nero for my '83 308 GTS. That may be a plain color combo to many, but I looked a long time to find a well-sorted car with that combo.

    Maybe I'm just plain....

Blu Chiaro would be worth paying a premium.

For some reason I would love a yellow/tan QV, radical cars look better in radical colors! my 2cts.

I think you'd have to -- I've seen one in my life. And zero 308s in that color.

POSSIBLY Green/Tan - I forget the official color name, but I have seen one in photos and a 328 locally in that color and it is stunning. BRG it is NOT.

I had a Euro 328 GTS that was Nero Metallico, with red leather and carpets...Truly stunning to see!

Silver/Red 328 GTB. That would be my #1 combo even over red/tan. LFSC had one many many years ago that I would love to track down when I'm ready.

There is a Green / Brown (not tan) carbed 308 GTB in the SF Bay area. Gorgeous car. Got to know the owner at a few FCA-PR events. Now if that car ever came up for sale, I would find room in both the wallet and the garage.

Rosso Rubino Met- Stunning to see in person. Really shows the lines of the car. Got tired of seeing the typical "Red Ferrari"

Anthracite grey looks nice. I remember a glass car with a red interior back in Los Angeles/Monterey Park that was bought new; Guy but can't remember the last name.

On the board here is an anthracite QV GTS in Virginia that looked stunning with a tan interior.

I like silver on the early 308s and the 328 but not like all the black nose vents against the silver on the later 308s.

When I was looking I was absolutely not interested in any rosso corsa 308s.

You know I have been thinking about this. I think I would add Bianco and Giallo to my list. Tim Stanford has a yellow 328 and it is stunning. I've always had a thing for white cars and while I've never seen one something tells me it would "work" on a 328.

Almost any of the blues -- Tom's local Chiaro Blue machine is stunning (used to belong to ChiaroSlag(?) on the Left Coast)

I think the silver is ok, but the Grigio is stunning (but I'm biased)

I'm not typically a fan of the reds, blacks, whites.

They didn't offer the color in the 328, but that lime green fiberglass 308 that was for sale years ago would be a wallet-opener for sure!

Lastly, and strangely -- there's a Chiaro Oro 328 out there with a factory brown interior and brown dash. High miles, etc. etc., but if I tracked it back down at the right time for me I'd get it for sure.

I think Tillman's car is the prettiest 328 I've ever seen (at least seen in pictures).

When I purchased my car, a big selling point was the color combination - Grigio/tan. I agree that many of the blue colors are very attractive as well.

That lime green GTB looks pretty cool! Does anyone know if that came from the factory that color?

After a second look I think I would tire of it Quickly.

I was visiting the Ferrari dealer in Zurich just for a look around their car showroom. They always have some interesting cars tucked away but I certainly had no intention of buying a car. Then I saw the black 328 they had, I thought it looked stunning. It was also the most expensive 328 for sale in Switzerland at the time. I had never considered a 328, but when I saw this car I knew I wanted it. I picked it up 2 days later.

I don't have to explain to Bullfighter why I bought it. :)
