    hmmmmmm

    yes it is.

it's ok. they're cheap to run and look very pretty and are plenty fast enough....and easy to sell when you want to without losing too much dough, which is always a nice added bonus. but that's just my opinion...which is more than enough :) Plenty of good ones around too, I understand. I just bought the first one I saw. Brave move, but no regrets.

    no.

its ok?.............damn not what I wanted to hear...haha.....whats it sound like??? Usual F1-esque scream like from a 348/355???

Speed im not worried about, my wrx would cream a 328/348/355 ect.....got the speed car done, got the american muscle car cruiser done too with my mustang....want that special feeling of driving an Italian masterpiece, with its flaws, as long as its brisk in power/acceleration, has that wonderful sound, looks the goods, and is somewhat not too expensive to run/insure.

That's because they are not really pristine. Most owners' views of their Ferrari's in these ads are WAY warped. And most of these cars would need tens of thousands of $ to make them right. A TRULY pristine car doesn't last long on the market. Usually it doesn't even get publically advertised as it's sold by word of mouth.
But then again, it depends what you call pristine. At the last Ferrari concours, a lot of the entrants obviously viewed their cars as pristine, but if I would have been in the shoes, I would have been embarassed to have had the car displayed in the car park, never mind judged in a concours.

The owner of the car that won was probably quite pleased that you didn't enter yours.

And that was because I didn't think it was good enough for a concours. I'll prep it for next year though  :D
Since you saw it last, she now has a full CF interior trim (should have done that before I bought all new interior panels - oh well) and also a brand new steering wheel. It's amazing the tactile difference that makes!

Talking about concours condition cars, you still haven't seen the S4s. Imagine what it's like as it's the state and current national concours champ :D

I have to mention this, just in case - my cars are not garage queens. They get trashed on the road and on the track. The S4s did 307kph in the outback. It's just that after every adventure, everything mechanical and cosmetic gets fixed, so they go on and win concourses. Truly no expense sparred cars. And I truly have OCD when it comes to them.

A number of the entrants seemed to view the event itself as primarily a sale opportunity.
Looking at the pics posted here I thought I was looking at car sales online for a moment there.

    thanks for the insight guys.

Well, I dont need a concours car......as long as its super clean, no dints/scratches and mechanically sound.

From my understanding a concours car is perfect in every sense, and spotless (even under carriage).

yeah im wondering what you spent $80k on Andre?

    New Paint
    Rebuilt mechanicals
    New interior

surely even that wouldnt be much more than $80k?

anyway, i myself want a nice clean car, but i expect that what ever i buy will have a little wear & tear, and i intend to drive it so i expect i would also add to the stone chips etc.

anyone notice that that F355 spider for $115k is already removed from carpoint?

Supposed to be but there's variation between clubs and events of course.
Some can be sticklers for period detail on items you'd want to up grade with a car intended for real use.
Tyres, fuse boxes, ignition upgrades etc are among things I might want to change.
Speaking without experience I'd buy the best car I could afford and then slowly refine any blemishes it might have.
There's no end of threads here you should be reading to get a feel for the two models you're considering from the perspective of those who've been there before you.
