    Hello Everyone!

I'm new to the forum & Ferrari family!! I've driven plenty of Ferrari's on & off the track but had always been a Porsche guy, till now, I got the fever!!

I just bought my first Ferrari 99' F355 F1 Spider ,its an original one owner Cali car in MINT condition with only 15k original miles, no paint work whatsoever with ALL documentation meticulously maintained since new at Ferrari dealer in Cali. Its already had the 15k & 30k major service as well as new clutch. I've always Loved this body style!!! I feel bad to say good bye to my Porsche Twin Turbo now that the new baby has arrived!!:(

I would like to get info on it. How rare & how many were built in this color combination?? British Racing Green & natural top & interior(darker than tan) with dark green piping, I was told that very few were built & only on special order(is this true?)

Also will gladly post some pics if someone would tell me how to do it??

    Thanks for any info!

I have never seen a true BRG F355. I have seen a dark metallic green car that was stunning. Please post some photos or links.

Click the 'Manage Attachments' button when you post a reply to this thread and a dialogue box will pop up. Then you can browse to the image file on your PC.

Probably need to see a paint label on the car.

The green piping could be unique.

I'll say. The F355 Registry only has a few cars with contrasting piping on the leather. Most of them are 1999s, with the exception of, for example, Robbie's 1998 and TRScotty's 1998 that has black leather with red stitching - how do I know, I covet his interior very badly! LOL

He(OP) must mean stitching not piping, I'm not aware of 355's having any piping in their interiors.

Absolutely right! I guess the word piping and stitching was wrongly being used synonymously.

My 1998 355 F1 GTS has black piping on darker saddle(?) than normal tan. There are also photos of it in Robbie's 355 registry, VIN 112378.

That is interesting how that was done. The area on the door panel where the door handle is, that is usually black and the arm rest is usually the same color as the interior color. Your steering wheel being two-tone is unique also. That has to be rare since probably 98% of the 355s where done in french stitching. Also didn't think you could get the roll bar in the US spec cars. Do you know the back ground on who ordered it that way?

History, I was told by Ferrari of Washington salesman, is that it was 1 of 6 specially ordered by dealer in Dubai, UAE. Don't know if all 6 were identical, or each had different features. It is a US spec car., as are all sold in UAE.

The interior - note the dashboard too, air bag, and door handle areas, and factory installed roll bar are all that darker tan color. I love the tan dashboard.(Lighter than Cuoio, perhaps Saddle?) The car also has black carpets. rather than dark brown, and the top side (shown in the photo above) of the sun visors are a gray Alcantara.

It came to the US in March 2000 as part of a Ferrari North America auction of several overseas cars made available to US dealers.

What is French stitching? This car's seats are tan stitching, but the gauge cluster and radio pods are black stitching.

Great find, Stan! I couldn't even locate an F355 Berlinetta in Rosso corsa with a black interior and 6-speed transmission that I liked! LOL

Great story Stan would have been interesting to have seen the other cars of the 6. French stitch. the style of the stitching around the center gauge cluster as an example ie; 3 rows of thread

THANKS EVERYONE!!! The stitching & piping is green on my car, & was also told it being a very rare special ordered vehicle, but wanted to hear from you guys that have more experience in the Ferrari World of which I'm very happy to have become a part of. I added it to the registry yesterday but could not add the color of interior.

    Here go the pics!!

    Thanks Again!!!

I Flew to LA because of that car because it looked GREAT in the pics, & sounded like a great deal but you know how the saying goes "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!" well it was too good to be true! But thanks to that car I found the one I bought! The car has paint & body work all over. Its been hit in the front(repaired front spoiler, lots of bondo), right door & rocker panel, rear quarter. It was missing the rear diffusers, no books, check engine came on when I drove it less than a mile, sticky panel, console, controls, dash shrinkage, but runs & drives good.

For someone looking for a good deal & does'nt mind putting a little money, & work into it for an everyday driver. The car ran great, new clutch, & service but you need to get the bodywork redone properly on the car.
