Actually, I thought it rather strange that in the Autoweek ads this week someone shows:

430 whatever it's called these days
    F50
    F40
    288GTO

All with one phone number!! LOL!

And that's it, no name, no dealership just the phone number......

I thought "Wow someones really cleaning out the garage or their old lady caught them with a sheep, or something..." I didn't bring it to work, I can post it for you tomorrow...

    Correct.

They are images of a particular GTO sold out of Heritage Classics in West Hollywood.

Furthermore, the Ad lists the car they are claiming to sell as having been manufactured in March 1986, which does not correspond to known production dates.

Im not sure the owner would like that posted here.

By the way the RM Maranello car sold for $529,000. Earlier at Gooding Scottsdale another sold for $616,000. We have also sold 2 more at $650,000 each.

    Best,

I was there and it seemed to be as described in the catalogue. It also had Classiche Certification for what that's worth. Keep in mind that while that one is now epa legal it won't be DOT legal until January. If that was the hammer price you have to add 10% buyers premium 2% VAT (20% of 10% buyers fee) and 3% US duty plus shipping to get that car back to the US.

    It actually sold for $529k.

I know only what RM supplied for history and did not inspect this one myself, but it spent some time in Thailand and had an interior that was modified from original specification. It "looked" good, but that doesn't mean anything at all.

How was it able to get a classiche certificate without the original interior?

You put an original interior in............get some paperwork...........put the other interior back in.........LOL!

Joe's "now missing" answer is probably more accurate....LOL!

I just checked my records and 56337 was in fact supplied with the VM8500 all-black interior, so its NOT modified.

However, the other auction car 54805 was in fact supplied with red seat inserts but HAS been modified to VM8500.

    OK now I'm straight!

As part of this auction the car has to pass Classiche. Final details/repairs are done by Ferrari at the factory at the sellers expense before they allow it to be shipped to the buyer. There were several cars at this auction that needed Classiche work before shipping.

The 288GTO, the F40 and F50 have sold as a package deal, the Enzo is still available........and I was asked to post here that the 288GTO has set a NEW benchmark, on the sales price.

Darn, Mr. G...........can you hook me up with some "creative financing"'????? I guess I should have asked yesterday!! LOL!
