I have a 3G iPhone and downloaded the new 3.0 OS. My phone is seriously slow now. I'm not just talking about opening a new program/app. Even opening up the keyboard on text messages AND typing letters (there is a long pause during the time it takes to actually show on the screen after pushing the letter) are dreadfully slow.

Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have any info on fixing it? I cannot get a new 3GS until July 23.

Did the hard restore. Seems to not have the hiccups. Hope it is a permanent fix.

    Thanks guys!

I would go to the Apple store online and chk if you qualify for early upgrade for the 3gs at the lowest price pt. I originally didn't qualify till August 09 but now have the 3gs at lowest price available (299usd for 32g).

AT&T has DENIED my request for an upgrade until 4-6 months BEFORE my current iPhone contract expires, which is July 23, 2010. Ready to hear the reason why???

My job requires me to travel 20 days out of the month to various states outside of the 3G network and because I have most of my usage OFF-network, they declined me. Keep in mind that I have unlimited EVERYTHING and pay $155 per month and have ever since the original iPhone came out in 2007.

    HMPH....

Well that is pretty standard, I don't think any company will let you upgrade 1 year before your contract expires, since you signed a 2 year contract your current phone should still be under Apple warranty and be able to be replaced by them, originally I thought your contract was up July of this year.

On May 29th, I was told at the store that I would be eligible for an upgrade July 23rd of THIS year. They changed it now in the computer system beacuse of my off-network usage patterns. I spent an hour on the phone with AT&T and they are presenting a case for an override. I will have an answer by July 9th.

By the way, due to my inquiry to qv London to get my headers rebuilt I called AT&T on May 30th to inquire if I had the ability to make international calls. June 1st the computer updated my upgrade eligibility status to next year. Coincidence?? They also have on there that I make too many international calls. LoL. I have NEVER made any international calls--EVER!

I would pay $1000 for an iPhone with Verizon.....

Check online to see if it will let you upgrade there, or else call up ATT and just keep going from supervisor to supervisor until they fix it, they shouldn't be able to change the date depending on what features you use, you have a signed contract.
