The OFFICIAL cheap 3x8 for sale thread!

In today's market, this is probably a low $20ks car. The mileage is the killer for so many prospective buyers unfortunately.

 

The milage doesn't bother me but the 2nd gear comment does. I hated skipping 2nd so much that I ended up completly rebuilding the transmission on my '79 (it really only needed syncros but I wasn't going to put back old bearings; ZF does not give their parts away). I will likely never recoupe that expense, but anyone who is buying any car as an investment should rethink that strategy carefully. I bought mine to drive it and hopefully not loose a ton of money on it. You could spend up to $8k making the transmission right on this GTS. Regardless, it looks like a good deal for the money. You will likely have unexpected expenses on a seemingly perfect car. This one should make a very nice driver for someone.

 

Most likely my stocker high miler ... +100k miles 1982 GTSi ... new paint and interior ... new CATS and just passed smog. I checked the compression on her when I first picked her up and have it written down. Looks like she had new belts and tensioners before I bought her but she sat since 2000 with PO so probably needs 'em.

$17k????


I'd unload my hot rod 308 but I imagine it's worth less than the stocker LOL.

I've seen at least three GT4s on Craigslist lately for under $20,000. Sure, they are all probably crapboxes needing a lot of money thrown at them, but why can't at least one of them be near me?!

Hey its got antilock brakes too! Bet that aint a "cheap 308" in the end. Is there such a thing?

 

That's an early steel car, there........maybe worth a look...

Missing some bits like A/C controls and dash lights, but at least the speedo failed at a nice low mileage!

 

She just means the brakes are not "locked up".....they do that after sitting around awhile, don't ASK me how I know!!!!

Yeah, I can't believe that the blue GT4 has been for sale for so long. I would have thought that it would have been snatched up quickly, considering the recent servicing, price, and recent increase in GT4 interests.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the car is cheap. The reserve price has not been met. From just looking at the pictures it does look like it should warrant a cheap purchase price, but the owner could have a very different idea on their mind.

 

Remember If you cant afford a Nice Ferrari... Then you certainly cant afford a cheap one... Case in point. The car I inspected a few years back...
