    I agree.

Or maybe the manufacturer anticipated 1000 Miuras would be built - just like Ferruccio promised!

Or maybe at 1000 they qualified or a government grant? *bang *bang* *bang*

    Oops, forgot a zero. *bang*

I've got one of the earliest Miura's (chassis 1021) and it has engine number 1019. If you go to lamborghiniregistry you will see that the engines are ROUGHLY sequential, but clearly this was not a priority (as noted, they picked up the closest one, or cars leaped frogged each other during assembly and got "out of sequence", etc.). Also, I was told by Zampolli that many engines blew up and were simply replaced (he was very impressed that my early 1021 still had its original engine), further adding to engine number issues (setting aside the likelihood that the factory simply restamped more than a few with the original engine number no doubt).

A 4-digit engine number, I guess there's no rhyme or reason to anything.

I also just got my copy. Very well done. You asked for input for the second printing and I will send you a PM with my comments. The factory number pages are absolutely outstanding, worth buying the book for it alone. Thanks for going through the trouble of making the book. I am very happy to see an addition to the Coltrin book.

No Emilio, but I did find a nice Countach 4 litre engine that I am considering having rebuilt and mounted dry as art. So long as I refrain from filling it with oil (guaranteed to leak), she wont mind. She might 'roll eyes', but that's about it.

Today I had the chance to see the Miura Roadster in person, the car is just WOW, I've never seen a more beautiful car in my live.

Gary did an amazing job restoring it to it's original glory, it's in perfect condition and has now an official swiss registration.
