I sincerely hope you didn't infer an allusion to FChat moderating being akin to Nazi philosophy and practice. My point is that intolerance in any form is never good and in the actions of extremists it leads to tragedy. But by threatening to ban me because I referenced some awful human atrocities to make my point, you indeed fortify my point.
Please don't ban me for my opinion on the whole Lewis thing but i think he has been shown this year to be nothing more that the rest of the drivers. It's ok saying he is in a crap car but if he is winning it is his skill that wins. Schumacher would've pulled a win or a closely fought 2nd place out of the most of cars on f1. Alonso (and i'm no fan) is showing some great skill in that renault and there is no way it is that much better than the McLaren. Lewis is a descent driver but he is in no way as good as people or he himself thinks. He had a wicked car last year and now when it is not head and shoulders above the rest he can't make anything out of it. A great driver can work with or develop a car in some shape or form. Lewis is just turning up and doing little with the car each weekend only fight for bottom places.
the moderating in this section has always been questionable , veiled threats have been the norm for years Hamilton is nothing special, nothing better than any driver in a good car could do, look at Button, and good on him for acknowledging it is the car that has got him where he is, I have got a lot of respect for such a gracious statement that he made about the quality of the car vs his ability.
Quick summary of the thread: People who like hamilton still thinks he's one of the best People who don't like hamilton think he's just average People with sense know that hamilton is in the top 5 of current drivers and can't drive in the points of a rubbish car. They also know that Schumacher's 2005 car was maybe less rubbish than Mclaren's 2009 car is. The end.
Hamilton already packed in the season according to his own statements. A top 5 drivers or a WDC does not just give up because he does not like the car. That statement alone IMO puts him in the class of a driver on the way out. If he wants to cry and give up then let him drive NASCAR, F1 is for the real deal, not a Madison Avenue poster boy. Any driver at that level who just gives up on the season, should just check out or be terminated by the team owner.
Kin hell I wish there were a knob on the PC to turn up the intelligence? There's one marked "Brightness," but it doesn't work
Agree, except that points go down to 10th position now don't they? Or have they changed that back? Classic Pete
Indeed, mate. I believe Hambone starting believing some of his own press a bit too much. He'd probably do better to listen to THIS season's press regarding him to balance it out.
While I get your point, you're being way too melodramatic for a racing forum. Telling someone else to lighten up while citing the human disasters in the context you mentioned is a wee bit contradictory. If acting smug were an offense worthy of banning, you'd be there for a week.
True. Although this thread was silly from the start. With the same argument we could make fun of both Ferrari drivers. But we don't because we all know the car this year sucks. As does Hamilton's.
The Ferrari has been off pace and I hope both being out qualified by Sutil and Force India was a fluke of the weather. Hamilton has a good chance of finishing 2nd or 3rd in the race. He's finished better by at least 3 positions than he qualified every race this year except Bahrain where he only improved one position. I think he is the only driver in the grid this year to finish better than he qualified in every race. Which again makes this whole thread and a lot of the people who posted in it look silly. Hamilton is not another Jacques Villeneuve -He smashed everyone at the British GP last year, won by over 60 seconds -He beat FERNANDO ALONSO in an equal car. -Look at his career stats before Formula One.
Yes he did. Unfortunately LH can't carry FA's helmet when it comes to car development, although the testing ban makes that a moot point. Also it appeared from his in car comments that hammy wanted to park it after his dismal start-not exactly the stuff of world champions. He's more talented than hill and jacque. All drivers look good when the engineers deliver a winning car-but the greats HELP the engineers deliver that winning car-senna, schumey, etc.
Parking the car might have been smart but the brain is not the most important gland when racing. I've come done on some of Alonso's rash comments before but can anyone imagine him giving up on a race?
I believe Mr. Hamilton must have read this thread and felt bad about the way I was treated, and decided to use the German Grand Prix as a way to help me out.....Thanks Lewis
Oh man! I was deeply disappointed in Hamilton when he wanted to park it. Fernando would still be putting in the hot laps if he was five laps down. Ham's a great driver, way better than Villeneuve, but is he a legend? I don't know.
