info please on 355

hey guys, Im in the car business and one of the bmw dealers that I do business with is looking @ a 1997 Ferrari 355 with 27k miles on it. The car is a 6spd manual and is painted flat black. Weve only looked @ pictures of the car on email, and just want to see if anyone knows anything good/bad about this car. I guess theres some documentation of some services however I dont know the extent of it. To tell you the truth if the car wasnt painted flat black I wouldndt be so concerned, however it is and it just makes it seem that its been owned by people that dont truly appreciate the heritage and the origionality of these cars. The vin # to this car is ZFFXR41A9V0106619. Any info would be appreciated, I know that if you get a bad one of these cars it can be very pricey. You can also PM me with any info as well if that suites you better.

 

This car was for sale on eBay back in July, $70,000, 25,807 miles, through Team Riecke of Mandeville, Louisiana. It was listed as being flat black with tan interior, CD player, and a Tubi exhaust. No matter how good the history is on a car, you should always have a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) done on the car, by an independent party (shop/dealer), before you buy the car. Don't ever let a dealer tell you they already did the PPI, or that it doesn't need a PPI. A dealer accurately representing a car won't have any issue with accommodating a PPI. They typically don't cost that much, and are always worth it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

 

PS, flat/matte black is all the rage these days, and has even been seen on several Enzos. Just because someone painted (or more likely wrapped) a car flat or matte black doesn't mean that they don't truly appreciate its heritage and originality. If it's a wrap, that's a bonus because then the paint underneath should be pristine.

Lastly, please post pictures of this car. I'm dying to see it!

the topic starter has been buying and selling watches on Watchuseek.com
he was banned right after i purchased a watch from him.
I have reported the case to police and have been tracking him down since.
I had a reply email about a month after i paid for the item, the email was signed by his "brother" and said the he will keep in touch with me.
Its been over 6weeks since and no email from him at all, after i emailed him/his borther many times.
I then checked this site, where he has been logged on in june...
put 2 and 2 together, hes ignoring me after hes taken off with my money.
so really, someone that has to steal of someone else shouldnt even think of owning a ferrari.

 

Is A. White now selling watches?
Probably not....to small a fish for him and he is now in Fort Lauderdale FL. plying his trade there.
