I owned 3 Jags at once a while back. Got sick of paying rego to the government so I sold up. There should be special rego dispensation for multiple vehicle owners.

Actually the real rip-off isn't in the actual 'car rego' bit, it's in the 3rd party insurance that makes up most of the bill. This is effectively insuring the driver, and should be attached to your license and be assessed like all insurance; ie you cause damage, you pay higher insurance.
BTW, in Hong Kong you could suspend your rego (I think for 2 yrs max) so if you owned a number of cars, you could have them on rotation; seemed a good idea to me.

I can't see the state govt or TAC doing anything to reduce their income.

Get into Alvis like my old mate Rob G.
They have no engine or chassis numbers.
He had the one registration amongst his collection of 6 vintage Alvis and with label in a bike type fitting swapped it and plates to his choice for the day!
Regularly used his duckback as a DD, to work and such.
Great guy. Taught me heaps about alloy body working. Generous to a fault.

I believe some specialist insurance companies take this into account when insuring multiple classic cars, ie. you only have one of your cars on the road at any one time

Last paragraph quote is how it should be here as well, but classic car owners are a minority group.

I agree wholeheartedly. Exotic/classic car owners are a minority group and have no mass-thrust in changing things. The price of personalised number plates is a classic case of government revenue grab - look how much those fees have risen over the years to swell the state governments coffers.
