I've probably have asked this before in the HK Exotics Spotting thread but would like to get some more info. Where are the best places to spot exotics in HK during the weekday and weekends?
nowhere in particular. you just go out and about, do your thing, you will see them regularly, driving on the road, parked by street side, parked at hotels, etc etc etc. hong kong is a tiny tiny place, so the density of exotic is high, u will easily see a few every day.
SPS and the Lamborghini Service Centre not far from Heng Fa Chuen in Chai Wan. Also you can pop down to Shek O on a nice day and see what's going on there. Otherwise, exactly what mahwon said. You'll see plenty of nice cars, don't worry about that!
That has either closed or moved. There is a Lotus garage in Chai Wan. SPS has interesting cars... there was a Dino on a flat bed last week. I think that Mercedes gull wing that got the camo treatment is back at SPS.. must of just been borrowing it.
What about Tsim Sha Tsui East? The Peninsula and some other hotels are located there. Are there many exotics between Central and Causeway Bay? Thanks for the help HK spotters.
Peninsula in TST. TST East likely to have old Diablos with Mong Kok grade undercar neon!!! Between Central and CWB? That would be Admiralty and Wan Chai. Admiralty no. Wan Chai yes as many dealers along Gloucester Rd and many car detailing shops in area.
A lot of them show up on Friday or Saturday evenings at the Shangri-la and Royal Garden Hotels in TST. They usually get parked out front instead of in a garage near by. I'm heading over next week Tuesday for a couple of weeks. Gotta get my fill of Dim sum!
I've heard the Mandarin Hotel in Central is a good exotic spotting place. Is it true and where are exotics in Central?
there are 2 mandarin oriental hotels now. the original one does not have good parking in front, so you won't see any parked out there, at least i have not. the landmark one is got good parking in front, so you will often see exotics there, every time i stayed there i have seen it. you seem to be pretty serious about seeing exotics. if you just wanna see them, go to a dealer there will be a good idea. if you must spot them, just do your things normally i guarantee that you will see them, no need to try too hard. in front of hotels, in front of night clubs, driving in central, in causeway bay, they are everywhere. oh yeah, this one car you definitely will spot, is a lime green LP640 with license plate "5566", in my last 3-4 trips to hong kong, i spotted it multiple times every trip. everywhere i went the guy was there. so thats a guarantee right there
Have to disagree with you there. Most of the nicest cars I have seen in HK have been in the Admiralty area. Admittedly they have always been driving at the time, but it seems to be a good thoroughfare for exotics; Ferrari 275 GTS, McLaren F1 and Carrera GT spring to mind.
I just love taking pictures of exotics and its pretty much my favorite hobby. I rather see them on the street than at a dealership. Once again for the help HK F-chatters. I'll post some pics (if any) when I get back.
Since I got no pics so I dont wanna post on the spotting thread... but saw a Zonda F Roadster today while I was filling up my car at the Shell on Wong Lai Chong Gap Rd! Best part was the guy heel and toed right after he passed the gas station... what a noise!
From what I have seen, around that area your best shot is Shangri-la and the Pacific Place carpark. I haven't seen much at Conrad and the JW is definitely a NO-NO at the moment because it is currently undergoing constructions, the entrance is chaotic to say the least.
It is an underground carpark. However according to photographers on other local forums, securities are not very friendly.
