What's faster F1 gear or 6 speed on the 355, has anybody here ever compared?

Faster - Top speed? Time to speed? Time to distance? Which parameter(s)?

Guess- Top speed is probably about the same (from memory I think the gear ratios are about the same), but the F1 would beat the 6-speed manual in all the other categories due to the ability to change gears more quickly.

I don't care how much faster the F1 is, it's still a glorified automatic :p

+1. Sorry F1 guys I'm just old fashioned.

But if I was doing extensive track time, I would choose the F1 hands-down.

Huh? manual is never quicker and certainly not quicker on the track. You can do things in an F1 car that you could never do in a 6spd like tucking your rear end back in or super control of left foot brake and right foot gas or get in extra shifts where needed or 150ms up shift if loosing rear traction and keeping your foot in it vs. backing off the gas in a lower gear to regain traction and then hit the gas. I'd love to race an F1 gearbox but the cost of repair is just too costly and a PITA.
