Agree! That 12-cyl is looking shiny as new.

Is it out of a 330 GTC?
Here is what a GTC engine looks like installed (looks similar):

I'd say a 330 GTC 2+2 - whatever that means (maybe a 40mm wrench would be used on the big stuff). Judging by the light cast from the carbs, I'd say this engine was worked on around the middle of a shop, perhaps Competizione, and on the left side just in front of the Dyno room, but I could be wrong. I'll post again if I get a preminition about the color of the car it goes with. Oh, and I'd say someone like Richard would be the one to put this bad boy together.

    If I'm right, do I win a prize? :)

Michael, you're correct but......"you'll get nothing and like it".....lol... if you can name the movie that line is from then maybe....

The attention to detail while it's been assembled has been pretty impressive. There is true patience and pride of work in this motor. It's the classic Ferrari motor built the right way.

    Minico,
Yes, isn't this the engine I saw Richard putting together 2 weeks ago when I picked up my car? Looks great!

    no such thing as a "330 GTC 2+2" - it is either a 330 GTC, 330 GTS, or a 330 GT (which is a 2+2). All used the tipo 209 motor; 4.0 liters, 300hp @6600rpm. Don't feel bad - early Ferrari numbering was a nightmare - it got worse w/ the 365 line when Ferrari made the 365 GTC, 365 GTS, 365 GT 2+2, 365 GTC/4, 365 GTB/4, 365 GT4 2+2, 365 GT4 BB . . . . all very different cars.

Minico, is this from the 330GT, ex-Prince Bernhard car in your shop? If so, then not just a great car/motor, but very pedigreed Ferrari as well . . .

    Moorfan, yes that's the beast.

    too fast for me
yes, the correct designation is "330 GT 2+2" good catch!
Hmm... I know there is a fine Dino GT4 that's used for racing, and I heard it may be getting bored out for more bhp. Are these large pistons for that conversion?
