Man, even through the heavy disguise this car looks ominous...can't wait!

 

Yes, I'd also take a gamble and say those are the real wheels designed for the car as well. They've been seen in several of these spy photo's on this car and I have not seen them on anything else.

 

I'd say these are the wheels of the 16M Spider.

 

Looking at the photo of the rear, again it looks like it could be very close to the Italian renderings. Look at the perforation of the cover and how it is only in the same place as the rendering has the rear grills. Also, perhaps the bubble top camo is hiding an aero treatment on the roof or some luxury option like glass top or something.

Wow! The rear does look like the rendering from what I can see through the camo. The tailpipes would also make more sense if they did go the "option" route for the turbos. Turbo car would have three pipes and a NA car would have two spaces apart like the rendering. I'm also surprised how similar the front hood looks.

I think this artist had some inside info.

The pics in post #1835 appear to have no camo cloth on the roof and clearly show a sunroof or some sort of vent. That would explain the domed appearance of the roof in the pics with camo cloth on the roof. The sunroof is open and positive air pressure is making the camo cloth appear domed or bubbled.

 

I see also a glass roof.

That's what I thought about that photo but I can't figure out why there would be vents on the roof. To me it looks like a glass panel with vents on the side, similar to the engine cover.

 

There certainly is not room for a slide-away sunroof and I can't believe they'd repeat the manually removable panel like the 360 option that nobody wanted. Maybe an electrochromic roof like the 612 option, with side vents that open? Something appears to be able to be opened to make the camo cloth bubble up like that.

I also had a fantasy moment where I envisioned the roof lifting up like the Superamerica and then sliding down behind the seats. I know... just a crazy fantasy.

 

Maybe Ferrari has put speed holes in the roof...

LOL. High speed makes your clothes come off. Do you guys reckon the headlight vents direct air from the front bumper to the rear vents? Even though the front bumper is curved it seems eerily Gallardoish in the front. Guess we'll have to wait for the Full Monty.

I just think they want to distort the roofline to throw the car off a bit.

I also want to add that I am expecting nothing short of stunning when this car is unveiled.

I also think the third (middle) tailpipe is probably a fake,...it doesn't seem to line up correctly with the other two, and if you remove it - the rear end will look much like the italian rendering in 1854

 

It's really mysterious, isn't it? We've seen so much of this car but those lights and front valance are tough to figure out. It may be that their wind tunnel work has revealed a vent next to the light that allows high pressure around the wheel to be released, a la the Scuderia's rear vent, to enhance downforce. That or it's an outlet for radiator heat, which seem to be mounted in front of the wheels.

I think this is going to be a "challenging" design at first, as the 430 was for some. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get everyone's heads around it. My guess is that as the technical reasons for its look become better known (venting, downforce, etc), it'll look more beautiful.

That's right. I'd venture that the two pipes on the sides open up completely during full throttle while the third is more muted. This thing's going to wail.

 

You may have a point here. Three pipes in such a fashion may effect the noise it makes. Didn't someone from Ferrari say a while back that they were working on more sound and fury for future cars and not monumental leaps in performance?

 

I noticed that too. They were the first to show the hood with the triangular scoops at the corners - not a usual design. They missed the radiator exhaust vents at the sides of the headlights though.

Dude, nice! I think this is the best representation yet! And those vents inside and outside the headlights suddenly make a lot of sense, designwise. There may be a nice interplay of convex and concave in those...

Looking at the engine bay exhaust photo: It looks like two vacuum-actuators on the outside exhaust ports. I think the red items are O2 sensors or smog equipment of some sort so the lower valves could open (for more sound and less back-pressure) under throttle or high pressure.
