Every time I unlock my 430 using the remote control in the key I hear a noise from the back of the car. It sounds like a small hydraulic motor adjusting the alignment of part of the car in the rear. I figured this was normal since I hear it every time I unlock the car, although I'm not sure what the sound is attributable to exactly. But I was out for a drive this evening and heard that very same noise once every 2 minutes while the car was in motion.

Does anyone know what this sound is? Should I be concerned that I'm hearing it while I'm driving?

    Thanks,
    Sandman

mine's always done the same .. no idea what it is but I've assumed it was a fuel pump or something similar. I'm sure someone on here will know what it is though

That's normal. It is the F1 shifting pump building up enough pressure to make you do the initial shifts to start drive the car :)

    Nothing to worry about :)

The sound you hear is the F1 pump when you open the door, however i don't remember ever hearing that sound while driving the car as you described.

Fuel pump being primed. Should not hear that while driving the car. Suggest bringing to the dealer for a check

It's not the fuel pump. It's the F1 pump as others have said. It's simply building initial pressure for start-up use.

It's normal to hear when you open the door, etc., not when you're driving.
