I know that with the early 360's people update the computer to get the faster and smoother shifting but can that be done in a 2006 612? I drove a 430 the other day and it does shift much quicker than my 612.

The 2008 612 has the "superfast" transmission, and I agree, it is an improvement over the older cars. I don't think there is any upgrade path, though. I think the HGTC/HGTS package included this as well, for a while.

I drove an 08' 430 that shifted quite a bit quicker than my 06'.......Ferrari doesn't rest on their laurels, each year they get better and badder!

I have the HGTC 2006 612 - it shifts quick in normal mode but in sport mode there is a significant difference. Any faster is to do the double cluth on the Cali. which I am curious to see and hear.

No Superfast in the 612 prior to MY08, this includes HGTC/HGTS package cars.

I stand corrected-- thanks. I thought HGTC/S had something different in the transmission, though-- was it just software? Or am I completely wrong?
