    Does anyone in the UK have an F355 head bolt wrench I can borrow for a couple of days??

    Why not ask a local non-franchise specialist like Rosneath if they have one you can borrow/rent

    Greyboxer, Phil is just up the road, but is on holiday for 2 weeks. Others I have spoken to are happy to torque the bolts up, but I have to get the engine to them, whihc is also a problem given the choice of vehicles I have.

    Just made one as per the ebay item (welded together a 1/2 drive shaft and sawn off 15mm spanner).

    Shall report on the success of this idea shortly. Now have to calculate the changes to the torque ratings for the nuts, based upon the new offset.

    I bought the $80 Baum tool but it actually broke when trying to remove a very tight nut. Just like fatarnie, I fabricated my own by cutting off a 15mm box end wrench (needs a pretty good offset) and short 1/2" extension and it worked just fine, all for about $20. You have to be careful when orienting the 1/2" drive's socket alignment, keeping it in line with the wrench handle since the left rear nut's are critical with possible interference between the drive handle and the car's subframe.

    Not sure that the 348 one listed on the ebay link will fit a 355 I know the 355 one is quite different.

    I also made my own 348 one from cutting up a deep reach 15mm ring spanner and a 1/2" drive extension, takes a bit of grinding and messing around but works.

    Weld must be first rate or it WILL let go.

    If the 348 one will fit, the torque changes are not an issue if you turn the offset on the spanner 90 degrees to the torque wrench, the readings will be correct.
