I'VE HEARD NO RUMORS OF A SUCCESSOR TO THIS HEAVYWEIGHT. EVERYBODY HAS THEIR OWN OPINIONS BUT I STILL THINK IT'S A SEXY BEAST.AS A MATTER OF FACT,I KNOW IT'S A SEXY BEAST!! My guess is 6L V12 about 620ps,shed a lil weight and it will be a world beater.More than it already is,in that BIG GT class.

I am very interested about it's replacement. I like the 612 big time, and love the OTO but something has to be done to get it's sales numbers back up.

Are 612 sales really that bad?

I saw several 612s doing pre-delivery test drives when I was in Maranello.

I also like the 612 but lets be honest 2+2 Ferraris have not traditionally been cars that either hold their value or sell many units, expect of course those that have had a very long life cycle, like the 400i series of cars for example.

Maybe the replacement is the mysterious 600 GT. A 599 engine with direct injection would make for a really nice powertrain with the 7 speed double clutch transmission. Keep the weight under 4000 lbs and it should go like stink. Get rid of the five year belt service, too.

If the spy pics tell the story then doesn't look like much of a change to me (unless I am missing something major). No matter what they put under the hood or how they stack the tail pipes to give a 'cali' look it wouldn't tempt me to trade my 612 for a brand new one.

Very soon ferrari will have only cars at +2000kg...and every cow could drive it. More and more weight, more and more power, more and more electronics.

If you put tones of power even a house will move like a sports car......but that's not the idea of a ferrari.

I think this might be a nice idea especially with a cloth top. 4 seater Drop top for cruising the Riviera or major boulevards any where. I have heard one of the major shops near the factory was working on one for a customer, has anyone seen it ?
What do you think of the idea?

I think that Ferrari will focus on lowering the weight and will not be worried as much about making huge power in the future. Just take a look at the millechili. When this came out, I remember reading quotes from Ferrari execs saying that their new cars will be lighter, smaller and with less output. I'll admit, I haven't really seen any proof about what they were saying is true, but I believe that this is the way to do it, not by just adding huge amounts of hp.
