I was doing my usual search on various sites looking for a Fcar and came across the following.

    http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/cto/1267569096.html

A 1989 LaForza - sort of looks like an Explorer with an upgraded interior. I was never aware that Ferrari had built a SUV.

Maybe I'll call the owner just to see it in person. :)

Before there was the LaForza, there was the Lamborghini LM-002......the undisputed KING of SUVs.

The LM 002 was awesome. The LaForza... much less so. Much, much less.

By the way, in most states, putting a Ferrari plate on the back of a LaForza is a hangable offense. This guy is lucky to live in NY.

    Yeah......

I remember they had designed a rear hatch system to accommodate bicycles and whatnot before GM actually built it......

I think the joke at the time was that when your Maserati went "Kooo-Bang", you could use the bikes to get home!

Yes, aptly named the 'Jerrari'. Ironically enough, our own Wiersma posts under the same monicker.

Make no mistake about it, the LM is no SUV. It is a Utility/Military vehicle.

    A Tahoe is an SUV.

Don't hate on the Laforza! :D

When introduced in 1985 (a year ahead of the LM002), it was a very innovative design with many never-before-seen features. Probably the first ever SUV built in Europe? The designer, Tom Tjaarda, has been employed in some of the greatest Italian coachbuilders and has styled several De Tomaso models, the Fiat 124 Spider, Aston Martin Lagonda, Lancia Thema, and even the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 and 365 Spider California. The latter typically being a million dollar car.

My dad used to have a VIP-version of the Rayton Fissore Magnum (its Italian predecessor) with an Alfa Romeo-sourced V6. Fully clothed roof and pillars, full leather interior with matching door pockets and spare tire cover, hand sewn stitching, burled walnut inserts, electric head unit slide-out, 40/60 split rear seats, yadda, yadda. Only about 120 copies were made of these.
