    This will undoubtedly be blamed on the Great Satan. Sad though...not a good year for Airline companies.

    I would NEVER get on a commercial plane in:

    Iran
    Russia
    Africa

    Iran especially seems to have an abysmal safety record when it comes to air travel.

    You forgot China. China air has one of the worst safety records in the world if I'm not mistaken...although, it's possible they have cleaned up their act in the last few years.

    I've been on an Iran Air 747SP and 707...the 707 was pretty loud! :D Also been in a South African 747-300. They let me in the cockpit during flight...what a wonderful office view! That was 9 years ago this month so good luck getting in a cockpit (ha!) let alone find a South African Airways 747 (they got rid of them :().
