I imagine FChatters fly a lot. I know that many programs now make your points expire after 18-36 months. I somehow didnt notice that awards now require twice the mileage as a few years ago, blatant inflation!!!

I am finding two different sets of redemption levels, very confusing...

Domestic trips range from 20-35k. Economy overseas was once 60k, now 100k. Business class is double, 200k to europe of south america. PDF file shows otherwise

Any programs out there better than the ones I am stuck in? Any loopholes left out there? I figure the awards are impossible to find seats, so upgrades are the best bang for the buck nowadays :(

Your charts are for different kinds of flights.........one is for one way upgrades only, and the other is saver awards.

I fly UAL and won't change. 100K +/- miles a year for the last 6 years. Didn't make 1K this year though.......

It takes 55K miles now for an economy ticket from Canada to Brasil (it only increased by 5K miles mid year, your info is wrong).......and I have NEVER EVER been unable to get an award seat whenever I wanted, even during holidays. I get free Economy Plus seating as well.

Above is the current chart you should be referring to which is from the Mileage Plus program showing the "Saver Awards". These are the ones to use.

Below is the chart for the "Standard Awards" program which only a person who is totally foolhardy would use.

If you fly enough to get Premex or 1K status you've got it made anyways...............and the saver awards work perfectly when combined with your status.

I would have to give another thumbs up for United Mileage Plus program.

I have booked at least 10 free flights using that program the last 5 years without any problems. In North America not only can you get miles on United but US Airways, Air Canada and shortly Continental. The last free flight I booked with them had to be done over the phone as I was flying out of one Airport and returning to another. That process was smooth and easy.

The worst airline out there is US Air. Every time you take a flight on US Air, you get to take off 10,000 years off of your sentence in Hell.

I noticed that AA now requires 50,000 miles for the direct flight that I'm used to taking. Before it was 25,000 not unless you now want stop overs.
