I personally like the compomotive 17" rims. You can get them in an 18" but still uses the same center section. They still look period correct, but make room for your big break kit :)

    +1...

Let's call it a cultural difference...

Especially the grey one... Pee Aaai eM Pee!!

Nice on a Pantera, which - like an AC cobra - is a blend between Euro finesse and US brute force anyway. On a 100% Italian car? No.

But hey, whatever floats your boat. It's not my car!

Actually, the gray car rear wheels are 20" and the front is 19"

I think if the "Right" wheel could be found and going to 17's might work. Having more tire choices, a little lower profile tire sets the car off, modernizes it a little. To keep the classic look flowing the car needs to have a 5 spoke configuration. It seems all the after market wheel’s that "Resemble" the stock wheels always have the Rivets or Allen Screws around the rim. Nothing wrong with it other than if your looking for an after market rim to set your car apart, they all look the same, so all the cars with after market rims all look the same.

There is no doubt that DUB = DUMB on the 308

Got my 22”’s on air bags, dragin’.

19" wheels on a 308 = STRAIGHT OUT OF THE GHETTO.

    Just absolutely RIDICULOUS.

No need to euphemize with statements like "different strokes" or "each his own" here -- this situation deserves not such an allowance.

I'd consider using those wheels on a 300zx or something but think it sacrelige on the 308.

The 16 inchers look great and lowering the car a half inch or so on the front arch or adding spacers are ok in my book.

    Superformance wheels look ok too.

The pictures of all others look "pimp" to me. Someone mentioned once on here that putting 18 or 19 inch wheels looked like the person was trying to pass the car off as a more expensive or newer car. I may be wrong but i agree with this analysis.

Having said that i think you should make your Ferrari look however you want it to look and not worry about others opinions.

I still say keep it in the family. 17" GTO style wheels (compomotive) look fabulous on a late 308 or 328. There are other trades within the marque that look great as well, upgrade to 16" QV wheels from 14" or TR390's on early or euro 308s, early 328 wheels look awesome on the Bertone lines of the DinoGT4. But no post 1980's wheel looks good on these classics.

    Now I'm just ranting......sorry.

That was me, and I was actually speaking from personal experience. When I was around 20 years old I bought my first Porsche 911, an '84 Carrera Targa I took the classic Fuchs off sold and replaced them with a new set of 17" 993 wheels. the 993 was the latest model 911 at the time, and the 996s were just about to come out. To be brutally honest with everybody the reason I did it was to try to pass the car off as a newer 911. In retrospect I can not believe how much of an idiot I was back then, I would have a nice stern conversation with myself if I ever buy a Delorean equipped with a flux capacitor. Fast forward about 10 years to today and anybody with any "rep" in Porsche world would take an 84' Porsche 911, preferably with the Fuchs or similar vintage aftermarket wheels, over a 996 and day of the week.

My taste agree Totally !! Especially the chrome wheels..... Turning your ThoroughBred into a parade horse.

But thats my taste; It is YOUR car and your style of expression. But Hmmm, what lurks in the catacombs of their expression that beauty is seen in such manner.......

They look good in 17 or 18 compomotive rims, 360 or 550 Ferrari rims. I just happen to like the 360 wheel on a 308. I just don't like those little 14" wheels any more. The gray car with the 20's on the rear looks plain stupid, 18 is max. I see too many cars with different wheels but nothing else done to get the stance right.

    It's all in the stance.

I'm still looking for the right 308 stance. It seems the front arch is too high on a 308 but those that lower it end up slamming it. The other concern is the battleshipped (tucked in) wheels. As you lower the car the tucked in looks gets more pronounced (like in post #19). Seems to me if you lowered the front maybe 3/4th of an inch and the back just a hair (as the car looks lower in back than front and it makes a backward rake to me) and add spacers you'd have the 308 just right IMO.

Your'e right "It's all in the stance"- I hope to get the correct 308 stance with mine, I'm putting in a lot of effort to get the right look.

Now we are on the path of righteousness, gents !! Here is how it's done. 375-400 lb/in springs front, 325-350 rear, adjustable ride height and damping shocks (I went Eibach coils over QA-1 shocks, but you choose). Once you can control the trim (as well as the handling), your period wheels look perfect. Drop it as low as is enough to still be comfortable on the street, with a slight forward rake (1/2"-3/4"), damping set at 5 or 6 out of 12. Perfecto !!, Enzo smiles from heaven, nods and sips his grappa......belissima !

    (do I seem opinionated ?)

Yes, very cool. I bought one of those with the Mr. Fusion option about 30 years from now in 2040, and sold it in 1986, worked out well for me, nice machines.

I decided to keep my 16" QV wheels, thanks for the input..I changed my mind on my own..really do not care what you like as a whole. Just wanted to know if they would fit. I am thinking of buying a 328 or a Testarossa over the fall...I know 2 different horses. In my Motorcycle shop I was putting 21" wheels on baggers when they were not cool..now everybody is doing it..now we are putting 23 and 24's just to be different.....and by the way I think the 360 wheels on several of the pics are really great looking.. thanks for the input as always.
