My red wrinkle finish cam belt covers were a little greasy.

Washed in solvent tank, that took the grease off but they still didn't look clean.

Put them in the dishwasher with a normal detergent load. They came out real nice and clean.

Disclaimer: Married guys probably shouldn't do this. Unless you want your wife doing barbecue over your hot engine.

How many of us (with plenty of tools in the garage) use a kitchen knife as a screwdriver, then put it back in the drawer?

Honey if you're reading this, I was just asking the other guys

Stuff goes through the dishwaser here all the time. I clean it up pretty well before it goes in with the regular stuff. If you've been married for a while it is too late for you, but bachelors, be sure to start this habit very early and get them used to it.

My wife also loves it when I use her steam iron to wax my skis - next thing she irons (usually some silk/cashmere thing) gets a bunch of ski wax on it.....

I tried something similar to this with the oven and a pair of freshly painted cam covers. I was caught, and now I have my own oven in the garage, and my wife has a really nice new one in the house. So it was about a $900.00 day.

Must be that soap that doesn't leave any water spots that makes the difference.

My original Alfa mechanic had a kitchen oven installed in his shop office.

When replacing valve guides, he'd put the heads in the oven, just enough to expand the aluminum.
Then (using oven mitts) turn it upside down and shake.

And when it wasn't cooking heads, it could always re-heat pizza. :D

Don't want to start a gun rant but hmm... not sure what I'd need that many Glocks for, although I do have a Imperial Stormtrooper E-11 blaster of course.
