tell me about it. likes, dislikes?
I have had my Blu Nettuno 2008 Granturismo since I took delivery in December 2007. In a word....I love it. I have put a little over 6K miles on it and alternate it as a daily driver with another car. I was originally attracted to it for two reasons: 1. the design - I personally think it is one of the best looking cars of the past 25 years; and 2. because I have two young boys and they fit very comfortably in the back seats. Mechanically, the GT has been perfect - with the exception of a power steering leak which was easily rectified under warranty. The 4.2L engine is great. Of course, I've never met a car that I didn't wish had more power - and saying that, I have driven the Grantursimo S and the power differnce is appreciable. But...my GT's power suits me just fine. Great exhaust note in Sport mode. And, although the car seems a bit large, it handles like a much smaller vehicle. This is one refined GT that can move when you want it to. Are you thinking of buying one? If you have any specific questions, I would be glad to answer them.
i like the car too. and as with most car crazed guys, i am constantly scheming about the 'next' car. so i try to inform myself about them from owners. hence the general question. specifics are appreciated as well...maintenance, or how the interior is holding up, easy to park? etc
My wife has one, she loves it, she had a QP as well. like this much better. I have driven it many times and it is a get GT car. It does get a lot of attention, my 5 year old car it the space ship. Her car is light silver/red interior
The interior has held up very well. I found (and still find) the fit and finish to be very well done. Certainly more detail and care was put into this interior than some of the Maseratis of recent history. No "sticky buttons - at least yet. The Nav system is very easy to use. I especially like the built in hard drive and have "burned" many CDs to it. The seats are comfortable and supportive. I occasionaly make dirves of approx. 4 hours in the car and I have never felt sore or uncomfortable when I reach my destination. The driver's seat did temporarily develop what sounded like a spring "squeak" but it dissapeared after a few days and has not returned. The gauges are easy to read and the paddle shifters are a breeze....although I wish they were a little longer a'la the Granturismo S. As for parking, my car has the rear sensors which I beleive are standard. I honestly can't remember if the front sensors were even an available option as my car was an early order, but I know front sensors can be ordered now. I have never had a hard time parking. As with most exotics (and many other sports cars), the front valance is low, but if the tires are properly inflated, it actually clears most parking stops (or bumpers or whatever they are called).
Have a GranTurismo S, took delivery last November, have about 3k miles on it. VERY happy with it, no issues thus far. Fit and finish are great, although radio and climate control could have been dressed up a bit better. i.e. chrome knobs on radio for 2010. The front is low, i scrape more in this car then my Lambo even before lifting. parking is a little tricky, i do have front sensors, and parking blocks\bumpers can be dangerous, the sensors sometimes do not pick up obstacles that low. parallel parking on top of being a little tricky, is probably not a good idea...last thing you want is someone to smack the bumper or front kisser parking themselves. i still feel the seats are a bit stiff, but have not caused any discomfort yet. i only listen to "Sport Mode" on the radio theyve really toned down the 2010 GT-Sa, so if youre in the market, and want a drivers car, look for a 2009 S!
I was in having my wheels and tires balanced on my 348tss. Being as I had to wait a few minutes, there was a Maser Gt convertible on the hoist. I had a few minute to speak with the owner. He has had it for 4 years with the cambio corso and raved about it.
Here's one past thread on the subject (along with pics): http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182876&highlight=wavy Perhaps they've fixed the issue along the production run.
Adam: My wife scraped hers once and ask me to take a look, I have a Lambo too, I took a look, and set it to my shop guys to see if they could put something under it for protection. They told me the car is not as low as my Lambo or some of my other cars, but it is the overhang from the from wheels, because the car is low and the front sits so far from the front wheel this causes it to scrape.
Exactly...its the long overhang that causes the prob. I believe its mostly the fins behind the front wheels that scrape, especially on speed bumps, where my Lambo has no probs. I considered the Novitec lift for my GT-S, but at 10k ball park, and having to replace the suspension, im thinking of trying to have my driveway fixed instead
