I don't blame ya there... and thanks for the offer as it's the only book I want. Well, and Cavalleria's edition on the 288GTO, but it's not out yet.

Thanks for this update. Now you mention it, the book I was referring to indeed is on the 250 Mille Miglia and not on the Europa (my memory let me down here).

I agree completely on the quality of Mr. Massimi's books. Every year a flood of books on Ferrari is published and imho most of it is not worth buying (cheap picture books with sloppy info, only put on the market to get a fast buck on the Ferrari brand name). Only a few publications stand out and Mr Massimi's are certainly one of those: well researched and expertly written.

Got a new addition to my collection of books by or about Enzo. It is a "history in pictures", a comic book, but the illustrations are of amazing quality, many based on famous historic photographs. I can make out quite a bit of text even with my rudimentary Italian.. Hard cover, it really exceeded my expectations of just a novelty.

Enzo Ferrari. La vita raccontata a fumetti. By Dominique Pascal. Translated by D. Tonani, G. Comparetto, Illustrated by P. Lesueur.
Published by Editoriale Domus, 2003. ISBN 8872124077, 9788872124079, 48 pages.

I've seen a few quite inexpensive copies, under $20.

If anyone is looking for a copy of Franco Gozzi's new book about Sergio Scaglietti, a copy signed by both is available here:

some rarities on ebay right now.
i am NOT affiliated with any of these sellers whatsoever... just a heads up to a few volumes that arent normally for sale. Some prices arent exactly in the 'spectacular deal' category but these books dont show up all that much... Emotion Ferrari book is pretty good... correct me if im wrong, but i think in Canada it was in the $4-500CAN range when it was new...

If someone pays the price he'll probably ship anywhere. My "regular" edition was bought on ebay from a seller whose auction said he would ship only to UK

Another copy is up for sale, http://cgi.ebay.it/SERGIO-SCAGLIETTI-UNA-LEGGENDA-MODENESE_W0QQitemZ260430512715QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCollezionismo_Sportivo?hash=item3ca2de424b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1229|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50. I bought a copy a while back from the same seller, it is a really fantastic book signed by Scaglietti, Franco Gozzi and Carlo Benzi, and Lauro included some nice extras with the book. I believe Lauro owns a restaurant in Modena where F1 folks like to eat.

Absolutely. The Lauro restaurant is famous in Ferrari history. It was where drivers used to eat, and various meetings even took place there.

Sadly, Ristorante Lauro, which was once located on Viale Ciro Menotti near the Maserati works in Modena, has been closed for around five years.

I would like to know also. At this point, it has been around 10 years since I heard the first mention of it!

Apparently it's some kind of state secret. My two most recent emails to the "official" Phil Hill web site have been ignored.

Looks like a nice book. Would anyone have an ISBN no for it or would I have to go through a specialist bookshop?
    Thanks.

    Hi,

ISBN nr. of the book itself is 978-3-8327-9304-3

However i can't find any Ferrari-number on it's slipcase. Only the sticker with "Ferrari official product" with the number 014983347. Maybe this is the partnumber from Ferrari. Otherwise look on E-bay or a specialist bookshop ( maybe Horton?)

    Regards,

    Maarten

And my email to Doug was also ignored. Maybe he's fed up off people asking?
