I am looking for a set original Goodyear NCT's for an 85' 308.

Must be Concours condition and be: 205/55/16 Front & 225/50/16 Rear.

    PM me or post here.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

    Hi guys,

With one offer for a front NCT spare, I would need one more if any of you would part with it.

Then I only have to find rears.

    Thanks,
    Tony

FYI, you don't need Eagle NCTs for concours competition, per FCA rules. Just the correct size tires.

    Thank you.

The car has correct size Pirelli P-Zero that are like new but I would like originals just to go the extra mile if I can find them.

Like the blue factory oil filter that I have, you will not loose points for the white one but the blue one is so cool to have :)

Correct For 85' 308 tires would be just "NCT" not "Eagle NCT" but I would take either.

    Thanks again,
    Tony

Curiously, do you trailer your Ferrari to the event since these tires are bit old to drive fast on the highway?

I have an set of original Eagle NCT on my '89 with 5,000 miles on them but my wife froze my Ferrari fund thanked to big increases in our kids' college tuitions this year and the bad economy.

    Hope you find your tires.

    Thanks,

    Yes I trailer to shows.

Not that I do that many anymore, but I like to have everything original.

Don't take either, Tony. This is an item you don't have to have - so if you DO buy NCT's why not hold out for the real deal? You are too close to 100% to settle for anything

Have you given Coker Tires a call? If there's one place that can find some NOS tires for you it's them...

(Sherman, set the WABAC machine for ...)

I'm certainly no expert, but doesn't concours dock you points for an undriveable machine? Having 25 year old tires might qualify.

I'd think fresh, correct sized rubber, would be preferable to old cracked rubber that was one of the various tires available with the machine when new.

An '85 would be a QV, no? According to the parts catalog on Ricambi, the "stock" tires were Goodyear, or Pirelli P7, or Michelin TRX metric. (The "P7" tires available now are a new model, not like the "P7s" sold back then.)

But then, the parts catalog for the 328 lists Eagle VR or Pirelli P700s, while the owner's manual also lists NCTs.

But hey; what do I know? My 328 "beater" is about as far from concours as you can get without using chevy parts or spinner rims. ;)

    They are MICHELIN, ........LOL!

Your problem will be where the NCT "molds" went........but I'll put you in touch with a man that knows......it may make Coker look cheap!

I'll answer these one at a time since I am a Concours nut and have been a judge, head judge, etc.

"I'm certainly no expert, but doesn't concours dock you points for an undriveable machine?"..... No, original tires do not make a car "undrivable"

"Having 25 year old tires might qualify".... No

"I'd think fresh, correct sized rubber, would be preferable".... For driving yes, for Concours original is prefered.

"To old cracked rubber"... that would not be the case, I had a number of cars older than 25 years with original rubber, it all depends how they are preserved.

"That was one of the various tires available with the machine when new"... My car as most, have the tires listed on the window sticker as well as under the drivers visor and state: Goodyear NCT.

An '85 would be a QV, no?... Yes.

There was actually a Goodyear ad featuring The Old Man, at that time.....you should get that too!

Both print media and a commercial, the video featured the "New" Testarossa".....

"every Testarossa delivered in the United States rides on Goodyear tires......why?

Because Enzo wants it that way"..

    *pan to him, smiling*

Of course, there WAS that unfortunate fatality in Arizona though....poor girl.

I'm off to search youtube :)

Huh, that's strange Jerry, I've ordered a few sets of Goodyear tires through Coker this year. Just received the last set on my doorstep about a week ago.

I guess Coker works for some folks but perhaps not others.

I thought there's some low mileage 3x8s out there with original tires that they can't wait to get rid of. Is there a different between NCT and Eagle NCT? My is the Eagle NCT:

I think all NCT were Eagles, they were rolling out the first of the Gatorback treads.......

There is a difference, the NCT came out first with a different tread pattern.

    The "Eagle NCT" came later.

Not sure where they got them then. I used to work for them, that's why I said that.

Looking at your picture had me thinking, that is the "Eagle" / Gatorback tread. Are you sure your tire says NCT on it?

NCT stands for "Neutral Contour Technology" that had to do with the tread pattern.

The wheel in your picture is from a 89' 328. Those might be "Eagle"

There was an "Eagle NCT" but it had the normal NCT pattern not the Gatorback tread pattern.

I have a bit of OCD when it comes to O.E. tires ;)
