Hello, Sure that its ok, but I have to ask. I'm having my 8 of the lug bolts rechromed and when I pick them up (8) I would like to take 4 more to him. Which will leave the car sitting in my garage with just 2 bolts per wheel until I get back with the newly (8) chromed ones. I dont have a lift, stands etc. So, Can I leave the 328 sitting with just 2 bolts per wheel for say several hours? I know not to drive it and I will not move it either.
As long as the wheel is fully seated and the 2 lugs are tight, and you don't drive... I don't see any problem with that. I once DROVE with only 2 lug nuts (not an F-car) while I was a stupid teenager... Jedi
This is the best idea^^^^^^^^^^ Jack stands are pretty cheap insurance just to have around. However, if you arent moving it at all it should be fine for a few hours. PDG
Same here, would think it would be good for several hours, several days or even months. As long as it's not driven.
Your wheels are hubcentric (should be assuming stock wheels) and ride on the lip of the hub so as long as the bolts are tight no issue. That lip (ring) will reduce the shear load on the bolts to almost zero. Typically a 1/4 -20 (small bolt) shear strength is 3000 psi. Wheel bolts are 12 x 1.25mm? a huge geometric increase. As previously stated one would be sufficient.
