Can't she still be an F1 track girl? Oh wait, her head is too big for that.

Sure, people will jump if they feel they're going into a better class of racing. From the dominant perspective here, though, what advantage is there to F1? The series is losing it's heritage month to month, it's embroiled in political disaster that detracts from the racing, the racing itself isn't (usually) very interesting relative to the wheel-to-wheel action in other series, aand if you're not running for the right team you have absolutely no chance of winning at all. The only thing going for it is that "pinnacle of racing" label, and frankly I think that if the name teams left there would be little in the series to justify that marketing.

Would you give up an established fan base making $$$ and an easy commute for some backmarker drive in a fly-away desert racing series?

I remember Schumi once saying that he liked vacationing in the US, because he could get away from being swamped by fans.

Hardly anyone in the 'states recognized him.

There's one channel covering F1 in the US. There are dozens covering NASCAR.

To most yanks, F1 is a curiosity: just another racing series, with really expensive "stuff", ... and not worth the price of admission.

Um, one composing on the fly?
The real-time nature of online forums tends to bypass the editing cycles you get on published works.

Oh, yes: and the comma in your sentence is incorrect grammar. At the end of the day. ;)

get this (check out the last two sentences below) . . . guess Windsor hasn't read all the current F1 new sources . . .and Kyle Bush?? F1 nascar style (bumpin',bangin',whinnin').......Marco?? hope they have lots of spare parts.....Speed?? probably making more $$ driving trucks and better suited to life in the US. . . . .Daly?? then we'd have listed to Derek babble on . . . Graham would be a good logical choice as would Summerton.

Windsor has repeatedly claimed that the team is hoping to announce at least one of its drivers 'pretty soon', but the ongoing wait has served only to add various names to the list of possibilities.

Despite four-time Champ Car title winner Sebastien Bourdais being ousted from a seat at Scuderia Toro Rosso, and previous American incursions into F1 - notably those of Michael Andretti and Scott Speed - being short-lived, US F1 is keen to run two local talents when it debuts in 2010.

Aside from Patrick, other candidates in the frame include fellow IndyCar frontrunners Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal, rising NASCAR stars Kyle Busch, AJ Allmendinger and, despite already having his fingers burned, Speed. From further down the ladder, second generation driver Conor Daly - son of former Ensign, Tyrrell, March and Williams pilot Derek - and Jonathan Summerton have both been rumoured.

“We've got a shortlist of drivers and we've already had the first week of our evaluation of young Americans,” Windsor revealed. “There are some very good young Americans out there, and we will be making a decision about that pretty soon. Danica is on our list for sure, because she's the best-placed American in the leading single-seater championship of the United States. She's doing a really great job.”

I think this Danica issue is finally settled.

Some think she's a pretty good driver, and some think she's not.

Some think she's hotter than blue blazes, and some think she's kinda average.

I'm just glad we got to some conclusion, some kind of resolution to the issue.

You can't take a mid pack driver from a spec-car series and put them in a higher level series and have them develop a new car.

She would never even make the short list of drivers for Team USF-1.
