That would seem to be the progression since the 308.

    You have 308 - 328
    You have 348 - 355
    You have 360 - 430

Now we should have 450 - xxx?

    I certainly hope so!

This is true for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and maybe every other car manufacturer out there. The design of the Countach (1974) is basically the same as the design of the Murciélago SV (2009). The design of the 911 Classic is the same as the design of the 997 Carrera. The design of the 308....

Well, I see a rupture in the line with the 360/430. Fortunately, Pininfarina is not being too much conservative, like Aston Martin, Lamborghini and of course Porsche. The downside of this is that they don´t hit the nail lately, but at least they´re trying. Let´s see what they bring with the 450. So far I don´t think that it will be a masterpiece, but it seems that it will be OK.

It better be more than ok, as this is the Bread and Butter car no matter what Ferrari says about the California. They cannot have a dud like they did with the 348 (no offence to you 348 owners) as this is the platform that has to last them the next 10 years. But having had people on this forum who seem to have excellent taste (you know who you are) who have seen the car, it should be a beauty.

Don't you think they are going to use the 4.7 liter engine that is in the new Maserati's? Not the same exact engine, but it would start with same platform of 4.7 liters. That would make a lot of sense to me. They are made in the same factory anyway. Then it would be the Ferrari 470?

A guy working at an official Ferrari dealership told me the car will be called "F500". But i guess we have to wait and see...

I agree with you, I have been saying the same thing in this thread for a long time, it makes lots of sense to me also to use the same platform. One of the head technical guys from the Australia/NZ importers, at the release of the 16M some months back, pretty much confirmed to me this point when I suggested an engine size of 4.7L seemed more probable for the F142.

For me "an official Ferrari dealership" is "Ferrari of ...........such and such area" that usually sells Ferrari and Maserati only (not counting the cars that are traded in)
The rest are "XYZ" Motorcars or Jim's/ John's Autosales that sell other brand-new exotics....:=)

FROM WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN, I ASSUME THAT THE PRODUCTION MODEL
WILL HAVE ADJUSTABLE AIR WING AT THE BACK AND TOTALY NEW SEATS. I EXPECT
THAT THE FINAL MODEL WILL BE BEAUTIFULL

I don't know... triple exhaust... almost as bad as the Cali's imo. 430 price is going to rise as all the people who sold who want this replacement will want 430 back.

Is anyone else disappointed that they seem to be jumping on the LED bandwagon?
IMO the bling effect cheapens the look and who wants to be seen as following Audi etal?

I don't view it as following anything other than technology. They produce an effective and efficient lamp.

We are not sure the triple exhaust will be on the final production.

Imo they might use a big single exhaust like the Lambo lp640.

I don't like the side mirrors, thet are round and don't look agressive.

    I concur.

Based on Ferrari lighting, gearboxes and interior trim in the recent past, however, I wouldn't be disappointed if Ferrari were paying attention to Audi.

I think it is final design. Too many pic's of it plus the engine bay with three pipes coming out. It was good enough for the F40.

    Ha, yeah, and 18 wheeler's.

Could they be the final wheels - I don't recall seeing them before on mules or other cars

The wheels appear to be silver painted versions of the optional wheels for the 16M spider.
