Last week, Singapore Airlines started A 380 service from Hong Kong to Singapore. So, I decided to go to the Singapore F1 race in late September and take my first ride on the A 380.

I got a sweat deal and decided to go First class. First class on Singapore Airlines in the A380???? Does air travel get any better?

I'm so excited! Too bad no American carriers will ever buy this plane. I promise to take a lot of pics.

Next up... the Dreamliner on ANA airlines-- if they ever start to deliver it! Traveling in Asia is the best.

1 failure due to the pilot flying the plane going stupid on the rudder and everyone wants to stay away from Airbus. The AF 330 did not have a vert. stab failure just look at the photos with the attachment points in the fuselage still attached to the stab.

Not only is it that, but for me anyways, it is also the heavy use of composites, as well as the complex control laws that diminish pilot overide of the flight control systems during times of an in-flight emergency.

Read Pprune for a few dozen hours.

Yes. The only plastc planes I like are 1/32 scale.

The latest gaff by Boeing IS an embarrassment but in typical Boeing fashion the they will ascertain that the structure is strong and durable. If you could examine some of the composite material you would be impressed by its strength and light weight. The most important thing is using the steel, titanium, and aluminum where the loads are concentrated...and not plastic.
