Now see, this is the kind of stuff that gets my blood boiling. I was bored out of my mind last night. I thought to myself "Well, this weather is iffy, I bet theres nothing out in Birmingham tonight." I cant keep wasting $30.00 just to drive to Birmingham to "maybe" see a car. The night I dont go down, and you find two Gallardo LP560's? That is insane? Do you take pictures at all? Would love to see them! Chris
I was just coming on here to post that same sentiment Isaac!! I will post an example. I saw this on M-59 a few days ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agree Isaac. I wish I could make it out there more often, but $30.00 in gas and a 45 minute drive isnt ideal anymore. Especially when I walk away empty-handed half the time, seeing nothing. Does anyone else notice the Rosso Corsa F430 that is always parked on Old Woodward? I have seen it three weeks in a row in possibly the same parking-spot every time. Maybe a local business owner? What a beautiful car though. Rosso Corsa over Tan with black straps and piping on the seats. It's gorgeous. Anyways, here are a few spots from the last couple weeks in downtown Birmingham. I've actually been thinking about investing in a camera for a while. I just don't have any clue about what's good and what's not. Do you have any advice on a good camera for someone just getting into photography? I've seen many of your pictures on Car-Parazzi and they are very good.
Wow. I really appreciate the kind words Are you a member on Car-Parazzi? It's a great site. I've been there since the start. I encourage you to join. Would be cool to have two Michigan members. I would definatley check into the Canon Powershot G10. I am not being biased because it's what I use. It's a great high end point-and-shoot. Would be ideal for someone just getting into photography like you are. At 14.7MP, you get some DSLR quality shots too. Great features, easy to use, and not hard on the wallet. I absolutely love it. It's built like a tank too. I just put on a Hoya polarizer. I would definatley check into the G10 though. Let me know if I can be of any more assistance. Here is my Flickr. Feel free to add me. I'm just getting into it. Most of my Michigan shots can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chrisarnoldy/ Chris P.S. - I leave for Los Angeles/Beverly Hills on Thursday. Cant wait to use my new camera out there!
No, I'm not a member on Car-Parazzi, I go on there all the time though. Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely look into getting the G10. I see so many nice cars all the time, so I would love to start posting some pictures after I get a camera.
Here are my pics: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2132344&id=38512126&l=debc520522 PS: Chris, your pictures are great! I'm really liking the ones from Beverly Hills especially though.
I see. It is a great website. No problem on the advice. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chrisarnoldy/ These were all taken on the G10. If the quality doesnt suit you, dont waste your time. I however, think the quality is great for what it is. If I can be of any more help, dont hesitate to contact me. Are you from Birmingham? Maybe you can help me. Is Old Woodward the best place to spot? Thanks Chris
Thanks Louis! I'm glad you like the Beverly Hills shots. My last trip was in February. I just purchased my G10 the week before I left. I had no clue that I had to adjust the resolution on it. All those Beverly Hills pictures on my Flickr are on the lowest resolution. You can only imagine how pissed I was! Those are basically throw-away shots now. I saw some insane cars too including Simon Cowell in his Bugatti Veyron, a Mosler MT900, a Gumpert Apollo, and the usual Scuderia, DBS, 599, etc. However, I leave this Thursday for Beverly Hills again. So I am hoping to come back with some great cars and shots. Hopefully I wont screw anything up Chris
I live around the Birmingham area. Old Woodward is probably the best place for spotting cars, especially on weekend nights. Anywhere around Somerset is good as well, Ocean Prime almost always has some kind of exotic every night. Where in Los Angeles do you stay?
I was actually thinking of taking a drive out there tomarrow morning. I have an older relative who lives near Birmingham and loves the company. Would there be any chance of seeing anything on a Monday afternoon? I think it's the Marriot by LAX. I stayed in the same hotel my first time out in Los Angeles and I loved it. However, I am roaming the streets of Beverly Hills most of the time with my camera. So the hotel has nothing to do with it Chris
Weekday afternoons are usually hit or miss, most of the time it's "just" Bentley's and Aston's, but you never know. How do you like LA? I'm hoping to get into UCLA Law School, so I really would like to take a vacation out there and see what it's like.
Los Angeles is amazing. Like any other major city, it has its good points and bad. I took my first trip in March of 2008. I have been there 5 times within the past year I love it so much. It is very diverse and multi-cultural, you run across all different ethnicities and languages. It is an absolutely beautiful city(aside from all that smog). My biggest problem is the traffic. I am so used to hopping on I-94 or I-75 here and just going. Depending on what time you hit the traffic, you can be stuck for hours. It can literally get you at a stand-still. You can go from having a mansion with an Enzo on one side of the street, to a homeless person in a tent on the other side of the street. All in all, it's my favorite place to travel. I also love flying into LAX. No other airport compares. I wish you the best of luck if you decide to pursue law school at UCLA. Thats quite an accomplishment if you choose to do so In all honesty, Beverly Hills is where its at! By far the craziest place I have ever been to. You dont know what its like to feel worthless untill you are standing next to a two million dollar Bugatti Veyron. For a car enthuisiast, its a must-hit place. It's like heaven for me. The atmosphere itself is amazing, not to mention the cars! Chris
It was well worth it. Number 6 will be happening in just 4 days. My father usually flys down with me as he loves the cars too. They're are so many cheap flights and deals out there right now it would amaze you. Chris
Here are my two finds on camera from today: Sadly, I missed a Maserati Granturismo, Dodge Viper SRT-10 Roadster, and Bentley Arnage. Chris Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow. What a small world What a clean Z8 your uncle has. It was my first one too, so that was cool. Looks way ahead of its time. There was a brand-new M3 in front of the Z8, would that happen to be your aunt's? Thats really cool though. He has one cool little car. Chris Image Unavailable, Please Login
I went to test a ZR1 the other day and they told me that they don't allow test drives of ZR1's. What gives? I can test a Lamborghini, but not a Corvette?
Wow. That sounds a bit odd. Did you tell them you own an R8? I cant believe they wouldnt let you take one out though. Black is the best color for it IMO. With the blacked out windows of course Chris
