This economy is chewing up people and spitting out pieces. Very sad to watch her burn worldwide.

Remember the slump In Ferrari prices back in the early 1980s?

If the car was any good, I doubt that it would be offered at that price. Without any information there could be service, accident, paintwork, etc issues. Remember, there is no such thing as a cheap Ferrari.

I sold my 1989 348 with just under 30k miles, red/tan, excellent cosmetically, and mechanically very sound for $37,500 a few months ago. The silver car would be fortunate to get over $30k in my opinion.

+ 1 The color is a hard sell, not mention it probably needs a major. I believe the owner would have included the history on the ad if it was recent. Who knows, maybe he just needs to unload it fast for the money.

Agreed....makes me wonder when we'll start seeing drivetrains from other cars being transplanted in to 348s :(

It's not such a bad thing. I saw a fantastic Mondial 8 with a transplanted Corvete 350 V8 at the track and the driver was
Having the time of hs life.

We're about to go through an economic period where functionality overrides purity. No compelling reason to fight it.

Here we go with the bashing again. OP goes from "there giving them away" to "still not worth it"? I'm confused. 348's are no good because...blah blah blah.

I happen to adore mine. The last of a dead breed. No power steering, no electronic driving gizmo's, no cup holders, no automatic transmissions, no air bags, etc....

I also think that the basic, sports car nature of the 348 is what will draw people back to it within the next 5 years.
They are a great bargain these days for sure, but getting about 30% of original sticker 20 years after production is a great value retention in the automotive world. Most three year leases have about a 40-50% retention...

You don't know what the hell you are talking about. If someone offered me a really nice 348 for 25 grand I might buy it on principle! The market may be bad, but it is not THAT BAD. I just saw a Mondial 3.2 cabs in average shape fetch close to that at auction. As to your opinion that the 355 is a far better car, that is YOUR opinion. Slamming other peoples cars is juvenile The simple truth is that, right now, there are few buyers of luxury items at any price. However, it is just a matter of putting the right car in front of the right buyer. Locally, I have seen a lot of movement on F-cars lately, and THE GOOD CARS are maybe 10-15% off where they were a year ago. Crappy ill-maintained F-cars have always been and will always be, CHEAP to BUY and EXPENSIVE to own.

348's are GREAT Ferraris, and anyone should be proud to own one. I know I would be.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, some of us love the 348 and some don't, the beauty of Democracy. Many 348 owners could of bought a different Ferrari but decided as I did that I wanted a 348. I personaly could and can buy a 360,355,550 but decided the 348 was the car for me. But it would be nice if you gave us more information about what Ferrari you currently own or owned at one time or another to have such strong opinions... Almost forgot to add that I own a Silver/Bordeaux 348ts, and its not for sale.

355s are fantastic cars for those few who can afford to keep them in perfect running condition.
348s are lighter, less complex, and much easier to maintain for those who wish to see more road and track time than shop time.

This marcello guy is just a troll looking to start trouble. He has probably never even sat in a Ferrari much less owned one. He attacked another FChatter in another post in this section. Isn't that cause for ban? Here is his response to someone else's post.

Your public profile sure does state the same, so what about some photos of your 355, with a recent newspaper? I hate to come down on you like this but you have no information available on your profile and your not even a member? Sounds like you either in Junior High or High School... And if am wrong and you are indeed an owner, your going about this the wrong way.

AND Marcello, you can now purchase a 355 for 40k, may not be much of a car, somewhat like the 348's you are pointing out......by the way big guy, when you can put 15 bucks together you ought to become a member! (Go bottle hunting in your pretend 355)...
