EMILIO: Really great to hear that these infos were needed! Unfortunately I have not yet images my LP400S, BUT EBAY has atleast two them on sale this moment. The model is precisely like this, the same what I have. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=400064080518 Here is the whole link on the product: http://cgi.ebay.com/1-43-IXO-Lamborghini-Countach-LP400S-Red-1978-KB-Japan_W0QQitemZ400064080518QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDiecast_Vehicles?hash=item5d25ad6a86&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 I will take the photos when I have more time to do that. And the the KB means, I have understood a bit better quality comparing basic IXO models. The KB I think has only been on Japan markets, so it's rarer also. This is my thought about it, not 100% sure. But really can say that the model is good enough to bought. There are really nowhere the LP400S's, and if there is, there is the rear wing almoust everytime. This IXO KB LP400S have not the wing and that's why I wanted it. I haven't seen the 1/12, but like I said, the quality is incredible. I taked a closer look my 1/18 yesterday, behind the engine, where is somekind of suitcase room, there is upholstery by blanked, the whole suitcase room. The engine seen really good the carburators, the spare tyre is right there at the front with other details what there should be. The interiour... really good. So if the 1/18 is like this, the 1/12 is really fantastic! I tryed to find the broschure, and I found it. It's from 2005 and there is 1/12 size black image of rear wing Countach, which I believe to be LP500S or Quattrovalvole. 1/18 there is LP500S on black, white and red with the wing. Also they have been the WOLF Countach with blue color and same kind of look by red one (Like the Tamya plastic model is). And the small roof wing version with white color. LP400's is available green, orange and red. And I want to say that these model opinions are just my own notise, someone else can be disagree whit me but I have serval IXO's and UT's (McLaren F1 GTR's, Ferrari F355) so these things I ground for my opinnions.
This is what I was speaking of earlier. 1120012 retains its original sport exhaust. Deep & bassy. Granted by now all the stuffing/mineral fiber has long since blown out! "Basso Supremo". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb6Z9jVo3vs
EMILIO! I took the shots today, hope you can find needed information about these shots! The red LP400S is an IXO KB Japan 1/43, LP5000S and LP5000 Quattrovalvole are basic IXO 1/43 models. The orange LP400 is that Kyosho 1/18, very very exelent model. Very detailed! Raymond, nice but would you really call these few ones a collection? kiddin aside....how many you have of these??? :-o
Dear Joe.. This is the ultimate Countach thread ever...and I really thank you for keeping it alive and updated. But the Evoluzione is an important part of the Countach history as well, and should be discussed here, no matter how many worms will creep out of the can. As I'm not an expert on these prototypes, I post these pictures here, and invite everybody to join the discussion. Let's open up the can! Joe, what do we see here....??? a couple of threads back I posted the red prototype pics off a japanese magazine. You might want to check it out.
Yep it is and the images really doesn't give right, how it's looking for your own eyes. It was very difficult to get enough sharp images, because the model is still on the stand and the details are so small. And you have to crop the image aswell. But the main part is seen there, it looks on real much much better. Have you EMILIO allready bought one..? Raymond: How on earth your wife has allowed you to have so much Lamborghini Scale Models???! What is the trick, that wife's will not go angry if their huspand goes nuts and byus the whole glass vitrin full of Lamborghinis?! Please tell me, how you have done it, I'll try my best at home also. Anyway, GREAT collection, it must gone an years to get it and no money calculated. I notised that you have Looksmart models? How's their quality/price ratio?!
The first photo shows the silver/black Evoluzione. Only ONE car produced. Carbon fibre chassis. Said to have been destroyed in a crash test, but no evidence ever was published. This car either is no longer in existence or hidden somewhere in a cave (factory? somewhere in Japan?). We do not know. The second and third photo show L150, now in Japan. Regular tubular chassis. No Evoluzione. The fourth photo shows a mystery car. Probably a "body style experimental car" with tubular frame. We had this photo here earlier (posted by you, Marcello, I think).
Here are detailed pictures of the original (probably) exhaust system of 1120012 - made in 2005 before the current owner bought the car. What do we see? The rest of internal secondary tubes (please compare the "1120004 restoration thread, page 2). Joe you recently spoke of a can of worms... correct Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My wife collects her own stuff I'm collecting since years, I begun with the Countach of Record Models from France, I have plenty of Looksmart and MR models, Looksmart are OK as long as you can buy them under $100.
Either a stage of L150 or this mistery 7l marine engine equipped thing once published in german car magazine rallye racing.
OK, so you have somekind of work distribution. Great! Ok thanks for the advice for the Looksmart's. Carmodel- has lots of them on sale, like this one, over 100. http://www.carmodel.net/zoomPage.php?MzY1NzU8Oj4wPDo+YWRkVG9DYXJ0KCdUR0Z0WW05eVoyaHBibWtnUTI5MWJuUmhZMmc4T3o1TVFsSXRMV0ZzYkMwd0xUTXdMVEV0TUE9PScsJycsICcnLCAnJywnJywgJ2FkZC0xLTM2NTc1JywgJzAnKQ== You have one of those I think? 1/43 size? The price is quite tuff, I think....Like you said also.
With the window cranks we, at least, have a general rule: early PRODUCTION cars (I don't mean the very early cars like 1120002): black, late cars: chrome. Changed during production, there must have been a period when they used what was lying around (see 1120110/1120118). Perhaps we also find a "rule" for the exhaust systems, we are just at the beginning...
