This has been talked about for a decade now. Finally the both of them in equal machinery, just the thought alone has me on the edge.Kimi the Iceman will finally partner the man whose records he once thought he might break until reality hit him in the face.Schumi WILL win the duel and Kimi I bet anything Kimi and the rest of the field are sayin "damn!,why the f*ck does he gotta come back!".Also at that,we get to see Schumi against all of the "next- gen" superstars. His comeback brings tears many eyes, not just mine. In the end Schumi will remind the world,HE IS THE BEST EVER.

I'm quite excited MS is coming back but I don't think the rest of the field is saying that at all. Next gen superstars are just that, next generation. Across many sports, many former champions have returned to find that the playing field is quite different than they remembered. Certainly, they are able to rely on and utilize experience that the current generation lacks but that's about it. I am cautiously optimistic that he will be more than competitive but driving circles around anyone? I think that is expecting too much.

kimi has the outright speed, MS will help set the car up well. It'll be a great combo and a huge boost for the ailing ferrari team. I can see Ferrari finishing the season very strong now. BrawnGP and the rest of the field must be shaking. I can't wait to see MS vs. Hamilton!

It seems to me that Michael can do more by providing Kimi with support, than by going out and winning races, at this point in the season. Certainly there are the emotions from their previous competition against each other but Michael was always a team man first and an individual second. The two most important things his comeback will accomplish are selling tickets and helping to wipe out the memory of the terrible political side of this season (to say nothing of Ferrari's overall performance). It would be nice to see Michael back up on the podium and even win a race, but not at the cost of hurting Kimi's position in the standings. This isn't about Michael, it's about Ferrari. If it was about him, he would already be racing for them.

AFAIK, Kim has never given any such indication. In fact, I've heard him state on a couple of occasions that he will not stay in F1 long enough to break Schumi's records.

Schumi will outwork Kimi. This is where he will beat him. Schumi's work ethic and dedication are a thing to behold. All of the Ferrari personnel are in rapture at the chance to again work with a living legend.

Schumi has analyzed this very carefully and thought everything through before showing his hand. Weber's position was calculated to bring the $$$, but they know Schumi is going to give everthing he has, every day, and that his leadership will inspire everyone and they will soon start punching above their weight.

Schumi would not have come back unless he was SURE we still had the ability to work hard and still win races. He will outwork Kimi. I can see the possibility of an MS/FM reunion next year. I could also see a 2010 WDC and WCC with Schumi and Massa working together.

Hurting Kimi's position in the standings? Are you kidding? Kimi sucks big time and dosnt have a chance to win anything this year. Why would Mike come out and support a drunk loser who knows nothing of team dedication?

Like him or not, Kimi brought a WDC to Ferrari and is a top-flight F1 driver...far from a "drunk loser." I'm sure I would be partying my ass of if I was in his shoes.

I think by qualifying we'll know if he still has the stuff. I for one am sure he does. I'll be watching his times vs Kimster all weekend.
The no testing ban is going to hurt his results but if anyone can make a comeback MS is the guy.

This will go down as yet another fantastic season.
Brawn and Red Bull out of the blocks.
Ferrari, Renault, and Mclaren finally catching up.
    And now this.

I wonder who is more nervous; MS or the rest of the field ?

Kimi Who? Massa has been kicking his but the last 2 years - The most overpriced person in sports IMO - Ok him and Beckam. Regardless I think this will do for F1 what Armstrong did for the Tour this year, ratings will be threw the roof! I greatly look forward to seeing him race.

Michael has nothing to prove. Kimi has no motivation this year because he can't win the WDC with the car he has. Personally, I don't give two hoots about Kimi for the rest of this season. Michael driving an F Car is like a series of high profile exhibition drives - regardless of where he finishes. Nothing, but nothing, will top that for the sponsors - certainly not a pointless debate over Kimi v Michael.

IIRC, one of the trio at Speed commented during the last race that Kimi is the type of driver that needs motivation, sad that anyone racing in F1 would need motivation to be fast, but I agrees with him. Now, the motivation has a name, Michael Schumacher.

I think I will be up at 4:30 AM on Sunday morning to watch Formula One once again. Thank you and Forza Michael Schumacher !!!!

Love it that he won, but that was Lewis' Championship to lose; he choked and beached it, and Kimi won. Go watch Kimi in his prime during the McLaren years (when the car had crap reliability) and compare that Kimi with today's... totally different driver.
