Those of us in the 50ish group should remember the short syndicated TV series The Persuaders starring Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. After just renting the DVD for the first seasonTV series The Persuaders , I came accross it in Netflix, I found the car race on youtube. The Britt in his AM V8 and the American in the 246GT. Pretty cool series with both cars featured in each episode. So before Magum and the 308 there was Wilde with the 246. Link below, might need to copy and paste in your browser.

Gold and Orange were very 70's colors for the cars. Fun times!

ahem... (struggles to raise hand due to arthritis and bum shoulder)

I have the entire series on DVD. Christmas gift from my daughter and her (at the time) car nut boyfriend.

Fun to watch, not a 5 star series, but fun, none the less.

I saw the show a few years ago on BBC America. The one thing I always found funny was that Roger Moore was his own costume designer on the show. There have been rumors of a movie remake, but I haven' heard anything lately.

Yes, a 6 cylinder (VIN: DBS/5636/R), but after a touch-up for the Series by AM it looked like the V8.

....The Aston was actually a V6 version....

..raising my ancient hand from the walking stick,I ask which V6 was used ??
My memory banks dont seem to recall the AM series of the day having a V6 - a straight 6 maybe...
    please enlighten ??

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

You mean straight six. It a DBS, so ran a straight six lifted from the previous DB6.

Looks like the footage of the McLaren F1 GTR and the Enzo in the teaser for the new one came straight from the Fifth Gear programme.
I used to love the series when it was aired in the 70-ies, just for the cars. Funny enough I remember well that the Aston was the focal point of my interest. I'd still like one, but it'd have to be a single headlight V8.
