If you refer to the Sheats-Goldstein house; because building codes were probably less restrictive when it was originally built in 1963.
Again, if referring to Lautner's Sheats-Goldstein residence the architect has no reason to worry as he has been deceased since 1994.

I love many elements of this home. Virtual tour: http://www.postrain3.com/gibson/belcanto/mls.php The view from the entry gate is underwhelming (to me) but many other areas are just amazing. The floor-to-ceiling (or almost floor-to-ceiling) corner window looking out at nature is a design element I just can't get enough of. What do you guys think? For those familiar with the LA market (I have no idea)...reduced from $2.9M to $2.7M which seems - relatively speaking of course - like quite a deal? The interior could match the exterior style of the house better, specifically the bedrooms.... but those are just details. For the price, you are getting an amazing property.
Thanks guys. Scott - built in 2003 (http://www.trulia.com/property/1079190220-15544-Belcanto-Dr-Los-Angeles-CA-90077)
Here's a property in Venice Beach that I first fell in love with a few years ago. I believe it was then listed around $11-12m, saw it a year ago for $8m, now it's for sale at $5.5m. The property is just stunning for a live/work, also used as a filming location... http://1311ak.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool - checked out the slideshow on the site. Would have never guessed there was that much going on there.
Wow that's incredible. What material is that made of? Is it poured concrete? It almost looks like a plastic material.
Apreciate it, joe. Very nice design, pronounced Wrightian/late 50's modern influence. $2.5mil is about the entry-level price on top-end residential property here in Dallas. Depending on location in the city, that house could easily be priced there or more. It's pitiful to see what carries a measly $1mil asking here, and this is still considered one of the more reasonable U.S. housing markets.
