Haha, it was a ton of fun! Thanks a lot Rick, got some awesome shots. I'll post pics when I get home. I can't resize in photoshop like I planned because I didn't think to bring along the registration code on the box... oy...

VERY expensive recreation built on a 250GTE platform. No expenses were spared.

It was driven as a "club racer" of sorts at one point by a doctor (if I remember right). Beautiful car. Even prettier under the hood.

I believe Wayne Obry did the car if I recall.

The owner also has a '59 Ferrari Testarossa recreation too.

    ACDSystems never expires. :)

You could just pick your top ten shots and resize them with any standard app like Paint. Oh wait, you are on a Mac. Ah nevermind. Life must be hard without a PC or a Nikon...

Some shots from today. Morning was rainy and overcast. Sun came out at noon, but by that time I had to leave. Carsleuth, Norbert and others will eventually post bright and shiny shots. Oh well, until then this will have to do.

Got a chance to meet the owner of the Scott/Riley in person, a fellow Swiss. How fitting on Switzerland's National Day. :)

Coachi is probably grinning from ear to ear on some rain cloud and very proud she took on these conditions. You are missed!

Had the time of my life in touring. We were zipping along nicely. Don't have any pictures, at some point I had to stow away the camera and fully concentrate on driving...Luckily it is all captured on video tape. :)

Is that Dave in the Boxer #47? Even wearing a helmet it sure looks like him.

It is Dave. The other shot is of Gene. Then there are shots of both boxers in turn 5. Dave has a passenger riding with him, that's his instructor or judge for the Coppa GT award.

    Before judging
    During judging
    After judging

    And

Dave shows us that it is possible to change an exhaust system on a 512BBI in the parking lot.

    And

Local Chicago Coppa Bella Macchnia winners. Sorry, didn't get Ed M. in there.

Thank you to all the organizers, planners, workers, wifes, etc......that made this event happen. This was an excellent and very fun one!!

I'm not much into Freudian psycho analysis, but that picture got me thinking...
    :)

Anyway, congrats to all of you! It is interesting that some of the most active Ferrari folks from Chicagoland also drive cars that are recognized on the highest levels. Very cool that real drivers and not garage queens get Platinum!

You know Debbie was thinking the same thing....

Congrats to you for winning the Rally!

Also, thanks to John S and Dave B for all of the tips on getting my car ready for the judging. Ann thanks for taking the photos. Robert, I'll look forward to seeing your photos and video.

    Nationals were great fun.

Awesome job! I was wondering whether it would be possible to get those rotors moving, but you went far beyond. Please send me a high res pic to my email.

Thanks! It means a lot to me.

    +1

If it doesn't collide with our other vaca plans (F1 GP) we're there again next year. Fly and drive.

Big thank you to the organizers, Mike E., Hugh R., Dave B., Dave H., Pete C. and whoever else from that big and great team worked on it. You guys rocked and put together a stellar event and deserve the biggest Coppa Platinum GT Turbo award there is! :)

Thanks Gerry! It was really nice to get a chance to talk with you on several occasions over the weekend, and some of the other fellow F-Chatters as well. I hope you and the family had as much fun as we did. It was a great event and the Chicago area F-Chatters should be proud that so many of us were able to achieve some of the highest accolades available from the FCA.

If anyone isn't familiar with the Coppa Bella Macchina, please take a look at the picture of the 4 winners in post #164 and then read what's on this link: http://www.fca2009.org/index.cfm/ID/18/iNewsID/6/ and also look over the 8 page rules and requirements link. This isn't a subjective award - these guys really had to put in a lot of work to make sure their cars not only achieved the best-in-class platino awards, but then also to pass every single inspection for every electrical and mechanical component on the car. I heard that one of the CBM contestants failed because the windscreen washer didn't squirt correctly. Yes - that's how tough it can be!

To have so many local F-Chatters achieve this level of distinction is really a testament to the type of enthusiasts we have on here. Congratulations guys!!!
