This is quite an interesting read about F1 cars. Eg. Carbon brakes & pads need 500-650 D.Celsius to operate & up to 1000 during race. Still thinking about that S$50K set? Do we even hit 300 on normal driving and how many trackdays do u do? Want to lose weight? Do more trackdays as an f1 driver lose 2kg/GP but they didn't say if it's per race or the entire season. I bet it's the earlier. http://www.formula1.com/news/features/2009/2/8949.html
It's between Redhill and Queestown. Yeah the Cayenne is a perfect example. I also think it looks like a pig from the front. Never liked how it looked. The Estoque looks stunning but I find that the proportions of the Aston looks a little wierd, like a stretched version of the DB9. The rear doors look tiny too. The Sultan has modified models of almost every make imaginable and that kinda creeps me out. haha I just realised that I quoted you four times! Yup it's per race. P.S. +1 to all the posts about the Panamera being hideous!
Yeh I was amazed the last time I drove a car with CCB's how grippy they were at low heat. They can't be much fun for city driving. Damn I obviously need to do A LOT of track days!
Now that's a real man! U got to respect the 2 wheelers who do 300 on NS, balls of steel & those who track em are probably made of Titanium Tiong's not going to be too amused wif all these bashing
Btw, I was walking down Orchard rd last night @ about 9pm & a most obnoxious car shot by. It was a Grey SuperLeggera. (I hope u are reading this.) He should be near 150 when I was @ Wisma Atria & the sound hurt my ear drums, it was loud (It didn't sound like an exotic until it shot pass). Everybody looked to the road & compliant about it. I'm glad I experienced it as a pedestrian. I used to do this but as we get older, you'll realise that this is not a wise thing to do. #1 Gives a bad name to exotic cars & owners. #2 U'll potentially kill someone who dashes across to Lucky Plaza @ that stretch during busy hours. A lot of people like to race down the stretch of road in front of my apartment & I've heard more than once where all the boom ends with a big bang within a few seconds. You'll realise that not many people know how to react when a very fast moving object comes towards them. If u like to blast, do it on quiet roads, off-peak hours & away from most public eyes.
jon the carbon brakes in F1 cars n those we use on road cars r different. they hv more carbon compound than the CCB on our cars. very different compounds. on my car..i can do 12 laps without any fade. coming in only when temp hit 130.
wah...that's secretive. What's the intent on keeping things so under wraps? I think ES will have to start lowering their prices soon if what I hear about F car prices from Komocco are true. A 560 shouldnt be much more expensive than a comparable 458 On CCBs, I drove a 599 with them over the weekend. hated the brakes when they were cold. No feel to them at all. End up got to stomp them in panic even at low speeds..
That must have been MP... hahaha... But in all honesty SF, whilst your feelings are valid I must say that the majority of Singaporeans that would complain about this would be just plain sour grapes... I have a certain yellow 430 spider neighbour that regularly blasts down meyer road, as well as a black Maser GT with stripes and a wing... bit dangerous given how residential and built up the area is...
2011 x10 you should have seen Hilton hotel. " I used to do this but as we get older, you'll realise that this is not a wise thing to do. " he probably still a young driver..haha
Hi TOTO, I would believe so. They have much higher life span than steel ones too. I bought a 911 mag recently which had an in-depth study about CCBs. How's it compared to the earlier one? On road & track. Don't know man but we know how "secrets" leak on the web though. You know what? I think yu're right on the prices, to be frank I'm not too bothered about "high OMVs compared to them", I'm more concerned about what's the final price! Of course with relevant OMV. To think that a spec-up 560 Spyder is almost 1 mill on drawing board is a little hard to swallow even in good times. Hee could be him but I'm going to whack as well. Seriously, not exactly just sour grapes. The exhaust note @ full blast echoing within buildings on that stretch is not a wonderful experience. Trust me, it was loud & I've heard many but none as loud as last night. Not safe bro, not safe @ that speed. On another note, the bad point about driving an exotic here is making me quite impossible to change lane in heavy traffic. People slow down next to me to stare & by the time they are gone, the next car behind them is so near that I can't switch. There was also another who actually stopped in front of me as I left a carpark & they whip out hp to shoot me, I had to wave @ them to "move on". Alamak....
Speaking of yellow 430 spiders, I understand there's one in particular that blasts through Sims Ave/Geylang regularly between his office and home, perhaps only stopping for durians - the spiky kind and the human kind
the Estoque is alright. but i really hope Lamborghini and Ferrari stick to what they do best, making 2 door cars if only your car had some gadgets like Bond's car eh
No feel at all? I'll admit that they're way too sensitive when cold, such that even the slightest tap brings on immense braking power, but why would you stomp them in panic at low speeds?
My thought is when brake it as you would for norm cars & then u realised that it's not slowing down then !!!
I've never had that problem, in fact, you can never brake like you would for normal cars in a 599. It'll just be like jamming the brakes because they're so sensitive! It gets more progressive as the brakes warm up, but my usual problem is using way too much braking power when I don't need to.
Massa was interviewed and he said... For a while your car will be driven by Michael Schumacher: do you have any advice for him? “Michael doesn't need my advice! It was him who gave me many tips during my career when we were racing together. He knows how to win, he knows how to drive and he's great: it was the best choice handing over the car to such a fantastic person and I'm sure that everybody will be happy to see him back on the track again. Although I hope I'll be back on the track with Ferrari as soon as possible.

Ahh, like all things. Got to get used to it just like how we always complain about the strange ones on Gallardos. Are ceramics standard on 599s?
not fussed; those who matter don't care and those who care don't matter! having said that, not one hundred percent decided if i will jump for this - given my legendary patience, question really is who will be in a position to deliver first.
