No surprise to hear of his father linked to BMW-Sauber... His best successes have all been when he runs his own team. Although I can't say I see Piquet snr. purchasing the team.

Since Grosjean was testing the r29 on straight line a few days ago, that could be a clue.

But you never know, with f1, and with Briatore !

So now, if you believe the alonzo romours, Renault has no driver's for 2010...

Does signing the Concorde Agreement really commit a mfg until 2012, or just prevent them going elsewhere?

Good riddance. Piquet never delivered results on his own (aside from his unique ability to crash and bring out the SC at the perfect time for Alonso). Sadly, there are now reports that Piquet Sr. is in discussions with Sauber to buy the BMW Sauber Swiss team. I really hope we save Sauber, but I'm not quite prepared to have the price of that redemption be having Piquet Jr. in an F1 car again.

To summarize, Piquet Jr. says he didn't get results because:

    1) Flavio yelled at him
    2) Flavio didn't pay enough attention to him
    3) It rained.
    4) My car was too slow.

While I'm glad he is gone from Renault I would actually equally happy welcome him back if his father buys Sauber. C'mon, some super rich money bag has to buy that team. Puuulllleaazzeee!

There is some substance to Piquet's statements. I know at least two other drivers with eerily similar stories about Flavio. One of these days Flavio will f*%k with the wrong person and get his own contract cancelled.

Piquet joins a list of disgruntled drivers who have found that being the number two driver in a Briatore team is not easy. That list includes Johnny Herbert, JJ Lehto, Alex Wurz and Jarno Trulli, all of whom had unhappy experiences. It seems to me that Flav is very open to giving a new driver an opportunity, particularly if he is managing that driver so he gets a slice of their salary. It is then up to the driver to impress him quickly. When you drive for Flav being a quick driver is not enough. You need to influence, motivate, and inspire the whole team so they all get behind you and are willing to go the extra mile for you. That is a large part of the genious that is Micheal Schumacher and that is what makes it so hard to be his team-mate. I think Alonso is similar, but less skilled at the politics than Schumacher. He inspires his team, but is not afraid to criticise them publicly if things go wrong or he feels hard done by.
I think Piquet simply expected too much. He was used to being the number one driver. He even drove for teams owned by his family in F3 and GP2 so he would have been shocked to be treated as 'just another employee'. I am not defending him. I do believe he is probably a talented driver, but in F1 an ability to drive quickly has never been enough. It is a lesson that he will never learn if Daddy buys Sauber for him.

    ALELUYA ¡¡¡¡

    - He must been started at str, force india,,,,or similar car.All people claims heaven with the Alguersuari news at str, well I think is a better driver than Piket jr,and nobody said nothing about Piquet jr when they anounnced the passing to Renault team last year......Come onnnn,Piquet jr was : "a rich young guy making real his father`s dreams",but with not success, oposite.

    - Piquet jr claims he hadn`t got the same situation, and the same good feeling, from the team than Alonso....may be he had got to win 2 champs with Renault(beating Schumi Ferrari) before to have got the same "team situation" than Alonso, may be Piket jr forget that.

    - Piquet at less with Trulli was pole positions there.

    - Piquet at less with "Fisi" no problems about claims from a spoiled child there.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    - Piquet go to cry with your mama,,and,,disscuss it with your papa.

    - Piquet,Briatore is going to make the better for the team, not for you.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

ALELUYA ¡¡ "Quimioteraphy" makes effects at Renault F1 team.
