Has anyone experience where to stay during the Belgian GP? Is there a "secret advise" where to stay during the GP weekend. Thanks for any response.
What are you looking for? Just a place to sleep or something fancy? If the first, why not try the Etap hotel near Liege. It's about half an hour drive to and from the circuit and very, very cheap. Very basic too, but clean. If you go there with a Ferrari I wouldn't recommend it though.
Thanks for Your response. I will not go there with a Ferrari but fly from Munich to Brussels and rent a car there, but nevertheless the hotel can have little luxury like indoor pool or spa area. Do You have any other ideas?
i've always thought a rv would be the best for spa. there is parking available. you can rent one in germany and drive over.
Go to booking.com. Type in trois ponts and use about 25km. We stay At le Beau site for sportcAr races but full for f1. Try. Aachen as a possibility. Most places booked well in advance. Good luck. Carol
Well, after a hard day on the circuit supporting MS what better to do than to swim and relax. We are all not getting younger
I would recommend you read this thread http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/f1-information/going-to-a-race/spa-francorchamps-belgium/#comments The campsite called Elephant seems to be very highly thought of. If you read the thread you'll see that there already a few people flying in from the USA and people from the UK are sorting tents and stuff for them to borrow. I've just completed a booking form. All camping looks expensive to me, but according to the owner of Elephant, Michael the prices are fixed by the community of Francorchamps. I'll be there with my son from Friday until Monday. The reason I wanted to camp was that I can stay within walking distance of the track and the atmosphere on a Grand Prix campsite is always great. Here is an email that Michael sent me We'll be driving down. If you decide to stay there and you'd like me to bring anything then let me know!
Thanks very much for the info! I may take you up on that offer. Do you know how secure my expensive camera equipment would be if I leave it in the tent area?
Does anyone have luggage space to carry an extra tent for me (local or from UK)? We already have 5 people in a 4-seater car + luggage, and 1 smallish tent.
rent a larger car - why not something like the Skoda wagon, Audi A3, Renault Laguna or similar! fyi if you are going into the circuit the southern way, there are two grocery stores in Stavelot on the main road (first is just past the roundabout with the statue, other just a bit further down) where you can buy food/drinks to take but go before they close on Saturday night (about 18.30 or so) as they don't open until 09.00 on Sunday am. Carol
We are getting a media car from Ford and coming up from Italy, and already have the return date scheduled. I'll be competing in a 1,000 km rally right before heading towards Spa, and will have to carry a lot of stuff with me that I am taking for the Rally (as I'm flying over from the US). So our plans are set and space limited. If anyone has extra room and wants to carry a tent for us, let me know. It would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Tom, It looks like I'll have room and I have 2 tents. How many will be in your party? My spare tent is a 2-3 man tent. Have you booked a campsite yet? It would obviously be easier for me if we were at the same site. My son and I are booked in at http://francorchamps-camping.com/. We'll be arriving on Friday evening and leaving on Monday morning. Does this fit in with your plans? P.S. If that link doesn't work try http://francorchamps-parking.com/ which is a mirror site.
Yes, we are also staying there too! We are arriving Friday. Could you really do this for us? If so, we will get 2 campsites instead of one (that way the 4 or 5 of us won't have to cram into one tent)! Let me know if you think you really want to do this, I will book the 2 campsites now.
