Bought a Martin Acoustic Guitar yesterday at Best Buy (I haven't play since highschool guitar class), and a pair of $150 running shoes at Gallians (I don't run unless someone is chasing me...) Totally unplanned...
I love the Martins. Their factory is near my house at home. We went on a tour of it back in middle school. Cool stuff and great guitars
I bougth my daughter a new tire after a blow out. ($133) And the body work needed after her BF used the jack improperly and ripped the driver's floor off its welded attachments. ($347) Call me wild and crazy.
An aquaintence called my wife this morning and asked if she wanted to buy his 328 as a present for me. I'm not sure if I'm relieved or disappointed she didn't impulse buy that one.
Understand the tire. Is the boyfriend unemployed or just irresponsible? I can't imagine damaging property that's not mine and not trying to make it right... My impulse buys this week: A few items of Patagonia clothing Pair of shoes a few boxes of cigars a case of rum and a case of tequila.
I would be more inclined to say inexperienced than irresponsible. Probably with said GF when she got the flat and tried to fix it but didn't know what he was doing. Irresponsible would be the two of them driving on the flat to get somewhere convenient and destroying the wheel in the process.
Fantasic kid. In college, pre pharmacy doing well. He is basically penniless. On the bright side, he is a gourmet cook and is fixing dinner tonight.
Well, then that settles it, he's a good egg! Good for him for having his head on straight, nothing wrong with an early helping of poverty...it made me the cheap ass I am. Gourmet cook eh? Sounds like she's picked a winner!
two more F Car USA rear turn signal lights, to repair. (cheep) One pair of vasque $ 140.00 trail running shoes,, New in box for last 3 months. (not cheep) (OMG, and i hate running. I am a surfer.)
Wow, must be in the minority. I never impulse buy anything. Last one was the laptop I'm currently on, bought it back in 2/2007. That was $1,500. I am not good at impulse purchases...always get buyer's remorse. RMX
A lot of stuff i "impulse" buy i've wanted for a while and they just happen to come up, either on sale or some kind of deal. I can't remember the last time i got buyers remorse for anything (besides a few bond and real estate books that i haven't got around to reading). I might be "impulse" buying a track car next week (i found it 3 days ago) though so i'll get back to you in 3 weeks about the whole buyers remorse thing
I learned my lesson after my last impulse buy: an $4000 used yamaha banshee that broke everytime i used it. sold it for peanuts the other day after just about everything failed on it in one big lump. blown engine, bent A arms, electronics failed etc etc. 4 stroke next time again, and street legal as driving with farmers plates isn't really the best option...
