There are quite a few well known road-racers signed up to attempt to qualify for the grid for the sunday race. It is always entertining to see heavy, high center of gravity stock cars
on road courses. (much like watching Alabama drivers on an iced over road) Some of the regular Sprint Cup drivers do pretty well, but those with no road course experience usually struggle. I am particulary interested to see how my good friend Andy Lally fares in this, his Sprint Cup debut. Andy will be driving a Porsche in the Friday Grand-AM event, and taking the wheel of the #71 TRG Motorsports Chevy in his attempt to qualify and make the race for Sunday. GO ANDY!

I think the team owner is one of the start-n-park guys.

Its frustrating watching a Nascar event when you're use to watching F1. To many caution laps, it seems a minor spin will cause a full course caution. Why can't they just throw a local yellow? I realize they don't have cranes positioned all over the track to lift the cars out of the kitty litter but come on.

I'm absolutely 1000% convinced that NASCAR is in love with the full course caution and "debris on the track" caution because it's a way of bunching the field back up again to give the fans "good racing"...complete B.S. in my book.

Watkins Glen is 1 of only 2 NASCAR races I can even stomach watching all year. The other one is Sears Point/Infineon.

Full course cautions = double file restarts = more carnage going into the first two turns. This could be a demolition derby!

Not being biased (the Glen is my home track); but it is a very entertaining race; much more so than Sonoma, and even the IRL at the Glen....NASCAR bashing or not, you will see more passing, crashing, and banging than most series see in a year................

Joey's quote about the way Gordon raced him into the tires UNDER CAUTION was priceless!

Ok, I admit I was wrong, they did complete the race. Give him my congratulations on a job well done for a first race.
