I tried the search function and came up empty. Are there any nice, comprehensive books on the F40, preferably a book dedicated solely to the F40? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

The F40 owners manual provides lots of information. Two different kinds of F40 cars though; the USA market version and the Euro version which is in detail visually different.

The USA and Euro spec cars aren't all that different. Yes the USA cars has some changes, but it's not more then 10% of the total car.

As for the book, I'd like to know too.

There are some books that cover the F40, but some are not dedicated, and none cover the USA F40 in much depth. A good comprehensive book is indeed needed!

Original Ferrari V8 by Keith Bluemel has a section that covers the F40 in quite some specific detail.

Ferrari V8 by Beki Adam has a chapter dedicated to the F40.

    Dedicated books are:

Supercars Ferrari F40 by Mark Hughes.

    Ferrari F40 by Automobilia/Piero Casucci.

    Ferrari F40 by David Sparrow.

There are a few others, and other than the cars owners manuals, you will find archive magazine issues to be an absolutely invaluable wealth of information too.

Ryan, agreed the weight difference between USA and Eu cars is not more than 10%.

But, there are very substantial differences that cover the bodywork, chassis, engine and fuel components, and interior. See my post in the Curb Weight thread...

Only visual differences are the front lip, bumperettes, side markers and third brake light. I don't really consider that "substantial".

Inside, just seats. Engine and chassis do have some differences, but you really can't see them to easily.

I guess we can agree to disagree Joe ha.

Yes, but we (I) was referencing visual differences. And with that being said, there are very few. If your gonna get under the skin it can get tricky. I mean most cars will have differing emissions/crash structure and such depending on what county they are going to.

I checked and most of the F40 books I mentioned are no longer available in the primary market, and you'll be lucky to find them on Amazon or EBay.

However this one below which has great F40 coverage is available at www.albaco.com

Fatastic Maarten. And not a single one written by me!

Anyway I can confirm both are really worth tracking down an owning.

Well, first came the 288GTO , second the F40 , third.... ;) :) I think you can guess my point... :D

BTW , the Genroq book seperates the production F40's in two chapters. Also 1 for the US-F40's... Guess they understood...
