Why has this uncompetitive person not been removed from IRL yet?

Haha! I actually logged on to start the exact same post! She's horrible, and not getting any better. Can't wait to hear post-race comments. Danica will be happy that she doesn't have to be the one who visit the Duno pit today!

Yeah, I did some searches on the web (and this site) and in 07 there's all this talk of giving her time to become competitive. It is clear 2 years later that she has not and you can clearly see that she's actually dangerous out there on the track. Drivers on three tires have nursed their cars back to the pit faster than she can lap a perfectly good car.

he, he, ... Patrick only finished two places above her in 19th and was the last one running....

I wouldn't be surprised if Gil has Simon Pagenaud and Scott Dixon on his IRL team, but Pagenaud also needs to be driving the 908 if Peugeot wants to try again to beat Audi.

Killing Time, Milka is a pay driver and brings much money.

You failed to mention that Danica was hit from behind by Conway and that resulted in spinning her off into the kitty litter and needing to be towed out. That could have caused anyone to be that far back. Danica fan or not, the whole story tells more.

The official results show the reason for I-Duno's retirement as 'handling'. Meaning, it was her who was trying to 'handle' the car but couldn't. And if we're going to compare Danica to I-Duno, then how about standings:

    Patrick: 5th place, 321 pts
I-Duno: 23rd place, 75 points. Pretty much the only drivers behind her are part-timers and fill-ins.

You never saw bump passing in sports cars? ;)

Actually, it wasn't quite that simple -- Conway stuck his nose in on an impossible pass, but Patrick drove right into him. Up against the kerbs, he didn't have anywhere to go.

I'd place the blame 80/20 on Conway's side, but Danica just wasn't showing situation awareness there.

For a while, it was embarrassing: the only two women in the field were in the last two positions.
I know right durn well there are some impressive women racers out there. Why doesn't US racing ever seem to find them?

Paul Tracy beat the girls with a 7th place finish. Not bad for a fill in driver.

There's about 4 of those cars coming from S. American oil money. I just don't know enough about it to make real statements. This Anniticci guy's team was sparse too say the least. No real pit equipment. But Duno appears to be part of the package. They say if they ran her off the rest may follow. Or better said they are following her. Car counts, count. Remember TG is no longer in charge and what difference that makes is a good guess. This new association with Brazil is real. Transporters promoting the new green Brazil energy or something.

Friday and Saturday Dario and Dixon were very chummy with DeFerren. Very chummy. When Dixon finished qualifying his first stop was Deferren's pit lane box. Hugs all around. Gannissi wasn't there but probably at the Glen.

Dario and Dixon would make perfect sense to go with Gil - if he could afford three cars, he could be the third driver. I don't believe it's the Ganassi equipment that's winning, it's Dario and Dixon...so that could free the Ganassi seats and it would then become another AGR. The GA race at the Glen was okay, Penske still yet to get a win - some good battles with Pruett and Dumas - wonder what Roger will do next year - perhaps he could purchase the other Dyson Spyder and come back to ALMS in what may be the "Prototype Class". I'd like to see the Penske guys running GT2 also in a RSR. I think we will see some big changes for 2010.

Glad you enjoyed the weekend. You going to ALMS Laguna Seca??

Nope, Gil said it's official. He's retired. He will run 2 cars. I'll be at Petite, and so will Audi, but no Laguna. Orlando then Chicago when I return from Petite. Work, work, work.

She is in the IRL for the same reason a lot of people are racing - her old man has the money. If you had the bucks and could pass the tests which are not that difficult, you could be in the IRL - and that goes for all the different types of racing - it always boils down to money, money, and money. You want to race Daytiona protos, GTs, no problem, buy or rent a seat - it is done all the time - not because these are all great drivers - total BS. The young hot kid in Nascar is not there because he is great(although he is a realy good driver), he is there because his old man spent $10,000,000 to get him there - thats right, 10m to get him in the development program at Joe Gibbs - I will say though that his skill got him into the Home Depot car but if his old man did not have the bucks along the way, he would be driving at the local track. Danica, she brought Motorola, Marco, well his old man owns the team or he would be nothing

I came here to start the same thread. She is a danger to others. I have heard drivers say as much also. She was 7 seconds slower in quali.

Carol- I respect you 100%, but to dis Danika when you don't even want to waste your time by watching, please don't waste my time by commenting on something you know nothing about. And you know a LOT. Bash Milka instead ;)

Carol, I know that's the case, I was just hoping there'd be a point or a line where the money she brings isn't worth the safety of the other drivers on the course. If and when she ends up getting someone killed that money won't look like such a bargain anymore.

She was in the Ferrari Challenge back in 2000 racing a F355. She lasted 3 races. Homestead, PPIR and Road Atlanta. Long enough to have herself buy a month in Bruce Millers Ferrari Challenge Calendar of herself in a skimpy top. But not long enough to last the season. In fact after 3 race weekends she vanished. Rumor has is she was asked to leave due to being overly aggressive.

That seems to be a pattern with her. They'll announce she's doing ten races and some other driver is filling in the remaining events. Then she actually does seven or such.
That happened in Grand Am and World Series by Nissan.

They certainly aren't going to ask Duno to stay away when they so desperately need entries. Political times, these.

At least in Grand Am there was another driver and they could keep her out of danger most of the race.

Milka is useless. The only reason she's racing is because of Citgo money and Chavez. Yet another reason I never use Citgo.

Hey Carol, look at the header on this (http://www.milkaduno.com/news/050114.htm) page. Your friend Halliday would have an issue with that, I'm SURE!

That is true, I hear he almost killed people 3 times, Duma only once. After saying what I did about buying a seat, there are really great drivers out there in the big shows. Unfortunitely there are great drivers out there who never get the chance because of the bucks

I didn't know she was Kelly Gearbox. I didn't know who Kelly Gearbox was. Ha Ha I took pics of the Mascot at Indy and wondered about the need the knee pads.

Ok, now click the links thing. One is PVDSA. That's Visos car. Those 4 cars at the end of pit lane are all together. And when I say together I mean the guests all seemed to be with each other. So yes, the politics are ripe on this group. If Milka goes, I don't know but it's thicker than banning a moving chichane that could be a danger.
