I don't think one person would bad mouth me and how I handle my business, now my punctuation on the other hand.....;) and I didn't even begin to tell the story on the $30,000 bill for nothing and again I'm not saying I knew someone who knew someone who had something **** ty happen I know the owner of the car the shop who charged the $30,000 and the shop that ended up actually fixing the car which is ALOT different then "did ya hear the story about so and so who got screwed by so and so?" alot different.:)

+100. I bought my 1st Ferrari in San Diego and drove it all the way back from there to my home in Georgetown Ontario. I went to see Tony at Modena. He explained everything to me and though he was expensive I felt my car was in totally good hands. After he was finished he gave me a fire extinguisher because it didn't have one. There were alot of issues with the car which he explained in great detail and meticulasly. The car is running excellent with no issues. I bought a second car, which I use as a daily driver, (it's flat black 355) and am currently setting up my garage to fix my cars myself with lift and high lift doors, only because I'm an enthusiast and want to learn about the cars. Tony even offered to diagenose the problems for me and I fix. Tony does the little things because he is passionate about the cars. Some people have different experiences for different reasons, maybe you as the customer is the problem.

Well it is very obvious that you are being worked over my friend or you are posting for Tony. My 355 engine is out right now because 3 years ago when I spent over $9000.00 at Modena Tony did not do my water pump and no he did not ask me if I would like it done. The water pump being rebuilt or replaced is a given in a 355 major. And thats not all. Now that my engine is out I see that he replaced my timing belt tensoiner bearings with aftermarket ones. They are Hill Engineering bearings which are better than the OEM but Tony told me he was replacing them with the OEM bearings or he could not warranty the work. Well using Hill engineering bearings is great but he charged me full dealer OEM price which was over $1,700.00 with tax and the Hills are only about $600. Oh he is a beauty alright. By the way that service for $9,000 was just that..a timing belt service along with a few 3 dollar seals that took all of about 5 minutes each to change but of course Tony charges for each one of these as if the engine was still in the car.

Most people dont come on here and talk about dealings like this. I have to because I dont want to see anyone else get ripped off as I did or my friend whos engine when torn down by another shop looked like it had been put together by Fred Flintstone. The talk about Modena and Tony is all over the Ferrari world and if your looking for service you had better look, listen and feel what is going on out there or you will get burned for thousands as some who are taking Tony to court have found out.
Im sitting here and looking at my invoice from 3 years ago and it is truly sad.

Could not have said it better myself. This guy should be out of business. There are ways of restitution this is one of them as well word of mouth. I have talked to ALOT of Ferrari owners. My invoice is as well sad I know alot of people who have a good fraud case against this guy but like me they consider it initiation and move on. It has certainly cost Tony alot more than he ripped me off for. Everytime I save a fellow f brother It feels pretty good.

The sad part is that some ignorant F-car owners still go there. They will learn the hard way. My engine is back in my car and it is amazing to see the dumb ass things he did. The play he left in my timing belts was was simply rediculous. Im lucky it didnt skip a tooth. He also set the timing to the factory build marks which are just a reference point. That is what you do if you dont know how to use a degree wheel. Basicaly the money I gave him was just a waste.

Have had my car on the road for amost 2 weeks now and it is running like a clock only this sounds so much better. :) Marcus and Massimo at Daytona are an incredible team. I think Marcus could do a 30K service on a 355 while in his sleep. The extra details these guys do when your engine is out is great. I will post some pics when I get a chance to upload them from my camera. Tony should drop by Daytona and learn something. ;)

Well here are some of the pics taken while my engine work was being done at Daytona. These guys are nothing short of sensational. Everything that Marcus ran into during my service was nothing new. He has had these cars apart and back together so many times that he has seen everything. There is also Massimo who is a walking Ferrari encyclopedia. While my car was there, I watched him work his magic on many cars including Ferrari, Lambo and Maserati. This is what was done to my car on top of the 30k service which by the way includes a water pump...yes Tony a water pump believe it or not.

    -New samco silicone hoses
-re/re heads at a reputable machine shop (bye bye brass valve guides)
    -New c/v boots
-new clutch along with a Hill engineering T/O bearing
-degree cams to a spec Marcus used while working the 355 Challenge circuit (man there is more power there now.
-replace factory manifolds with Tubi manifolds
-ultrasonic cleaning and testing of the injectors
-thoroughly clean the air intakes and replace old rubber gaskets
    -install updated power steering reservoir.
-install a new interstate battery and other odds and ends that were worn or looked bad.

My engine was completely inspected and cleaned before putting her back into place. I had lots of fun watching these guys at work. It is truly amazing to watch real professionals at work. My car ran very nice before but had the odd check engine light and some sputtering but now it runs so much better and with more power. The 355 is an amazing machine but only when properly maintained by people who know what they are doing. I have to thank Marcus, Massimo, Alex, John, young Massimo, Frank, Andrea, Dino and Steve for the great work and family atmosphere that accompanies Daytona's everyday workings.

I see that you have Tubi exhaust manifolds on your car.
    They look very trick.
How long have you had the tubi exhaust manifolds?
Is their a source in Ontario to buy these?
How is the heat in the engine bay with the fabric heat shields?
Do you notice any sound difference between the stock manifolds and the tubi?

The Tubis are new. The source in Ontario I hear is Ferrari of Ontario but there are other sources outside of Ontario which I wont get into here. The heat in the bay is the same. I dont notice much sound difference from within the car but everyone tells me that it sounds better since the tubis were installed. It sounded great before but those same people are telling me that it sounds lower pitched. My stock manifolds were scoped and there were no holes or collapses in them which I think prooves my theory of the cats causing the header problems. I am like a kid now and cant wait to drive it. Last night my wife and I went out for dinner and wound up driving up through King city Nobleton for 2 hours. Couldnt help but crack it open now and then. The power gain is very noticable. Its probably a combination of the valves, headers and the cam timing. Massimo has some chips he would like to try on my ecu's.....we will see. You should drop over some time Chris. Im just around the corner at Warden and sheppard. Picture is us at Mosport 2 weeks ago.

Tell me your car is newer then a 95? From what I understand and this could very well have been worked out by now BUT back when the 360 was brand new and I was just getting into sales a very very good long time car buff had a yellow 1996 355 that was at F.O.O I believe who tried to do some "tuning" to it that he had done to his 1995 355, something in the newer e.c.u's FRIED the whole electrical system and was so bad he ended up getting a new car! just be careful and ask around the problem could have had a work-around now.
    Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your pics and experience at Daytona. I have recommended my family member to bring his Ferrari in at Daytona instead of at FoO for servicing with Massimo working there.

Last week, I saw your red 355 with white challenge wheels and a black spoiler on Hwy 7 and 404, so I assume it must have been you. I like how you were blasting ahead of me on 404. I am not sure, if you have seen me in the 360 from behind.

This is just one of the great things about having access to Massimo. He has friends all over the place in the Ferrari community. Many of them are connected to Ferrari and the designing of these cars including those that build the ecu's for Ferrari. He was also an engineer and technichian with Ferrari and was involved in the designing and testing of many cars Ferrari built including the 430. I remember just a few weeks ago when he was working on a car whos rag top was not working. The part that caused it to fail was plastic and about 3/16th" in size. within 30 minutes he fabbed the part out of steel and had the roof working again. Like I said earlier, he is a walking encyclopedia on Ferrari and Maserati.

No I didnt see you or I would have slowed down. Its always nice to hear the exhaust note of 2 Ferraris together. Your family member cant go wrong by bringing his car in to Daytona. Its not just the quality of work there but the atmosphere.

I was going to catch up with you, but was 8-9 cars behind you and there was a cop car about 6 cars behind me, so I did not try flooring the pedal. The cop most likely was distracted at the car I was driving and probably did not see you blast ahead, due to the curve of the ramp on 404 merger. You were lucky, that my distraction may have saved you from being pulled over. ;)

Yes, that would be awesome to hear double Tubis roaring side by side! That's pure orgasm!
